That's because you don't understand Euroleague and Italian Serie A League basketball. Majority of the time, overseas basketball teams already have a set rotation and lineup, so as a rookie he still has to earn his playing time over niggas that are 5+ year veterans over there. He's averaging 8.4 points and 7.3 assist in just 18 minutes per game. That's an outstanding stat considering playing time efficiency. Besides, the majority of the time the leading scorer over there be averaging around 16 points. Also, he has a $2 million contract to wear Under Armour for one year. He's getting money, celebrity, and European bitches at a groupie rate. Beats college; at least the homework and no money part.

He should still be considered a lottery pick in the draft. There's not much talent coming out of college this year anyway. Look at the past international draft prospects stats before they entered the draft, i.e. Andrea Bargnini, Nicolas Batum, and etc., and you'll see that they've averaged under 12 points, and under 5 points on their 1st year playing Euroleague. It's a different kind of play overseas.
The same team(s) that drafted Danilo Gallinari (6th pick overall, EURO, 11 PPG), Alexis Ajinca (20th pick overall, FRENCH, 5 PPG), Serge Ibaka (24th pick overall, ACB, 4 PPG), and Nicolas Batum (25th pick overall, FRENCH, 12 PPG) in the 2008 NBA Draft. Not to mention it took most of those players over 3 seasons of play to reach those stats. They relatively start out averaging 3 PPG or less.
He's got the talent. NBA scouts know that. This is a chance to expand his game and become more mature. If he comes out, he's a first rounder and could easily be high lottery.

Each of those people are rookies. And the point is that you don't have to average 20 a game in the Euroleague in order to be a 1rst rounder or even a lottery pick.

Jennings took a huge risk by bypassing college and going straight to Europe.
To date, the experiment has had a mixed bag of results. On the positive side, Jennings is playing on an excellent team in a talented league. The experience has been priceless. On the flip side, Jennings hasn't exactly been lighting up the competition over there. He's been improving lately, but not to the point that it's clear he's an elite prospect.
Many scouts still believe Jennings is the best point-guard prospect in the draft based on pure talent. But his study-abroad trip makes it tough to tell whether he's as bad as his stats sometimes suggest, or whether the brilliance of his game is just somehow lost in translation.
Workouts will be the key to where Jennings ultimately gets drafted. The range is still pretty wide open. No one would be shocked if he were a top-five pick. Nor would anyone be surprised if he slipped into the mid-first round.

honestly he ain't been the same since he came to chicago and got his ass bussed by Rose in 06.
Stats don't mean shit if you are NBA-ready. Playing in the league he does will make him grow up alot faster than college. He learns how to play defense and at a calm pace. It's not about flashy dunks or high-scoring over there. Trust me, he will be one of the most ready players in the draft. He and Ricky Rubio, the second coming of Pistol Pete will be at the top of scouts list when they declare.
That game was the perfect example of why Europe can be good for him. Rose's game was more mature along with Rose having a strength advantage and Jennings acted completely wrong. He got caught in a me vs. him thing and abandoned the team concept. Hopefully he'll clear that up during his time overseas.

I talk to his Mom daily, she and his younger brother are living with him over in Rome. It has been tough for him, he's been used to starting and being the man, its different over there. They didn't need him to be Brandon Jennings the HS phenom. They needed him to be a back up pg, a team player, a spark off the bench, a role player.
New role for him, his mom told me that he came home a couple of nights ago and told her that he had found out that if he does what the coach wants him to do then he will allow him to stay on the court. That was big for him! Cause initially his minutes were limited and he didn't know why. He wasn't playing his role.
He has had days where he would stay after practice to work on his game with asst coaches, not knowing NBA scouts were sitting up top watching. So they have had the opportunity to see his work ethic, there have been as many as 12 NBA coaches watching him play at times. He's not disappointing them at all, college can not compare to the experience he's getting over there.
I talked with a Reebok exec tonight and I asked him what were the NBA people saying. His answer was they're talking about him, so thats always a good thing!

Yes, that is correct. He is facing off against smart, stronger players that have the experience. Notice how the Redeem team had to play a different way and they carried that back here and look at what they are doing. Defense is the key and that is what he can learn overseas. But as you said, we will wait and see. Because that is the fun of drafts. Seeing who the busts, stars, and steals were.
Most of the young players that come from Europe were not oputting up monster stats because more than likely they were not starting or getting much pt...that "potential" word is killing the NBA draft.

Yeah, I caught him when Oak Hill played Norcross at Ga. Tech. He looked alot better in that game. He got too fancy at times but the talent and play making ability was evident. When I saw that game against Simeon on TV it was a bit of a surprise. That game completely validated Rose's status.
