I don't know how old you are but when you have kids you have to be the complete opposite of them and be a great parent to your kids.
My Dad wouldn't say it but he hated his Dad. When he joined the Army in the late 50's early 60's he would send his money home for his Dad to hold for him, but when he finally came home on leave his daddy had spent all of his money. I think his Dad bought a Car and wouldn't even let my Dad drive the damn thing.

My son is four years old. He is named after me. My mother didn't know his name. I didn't mind her messing her granddaughters name, but to forget her grandson was too much. I usually tried to ignore her ambievlance towards me, but this entire year felt just too much. I gave her an ultimatum, be a better mother/grandmother or no more money. She haven't called in months. The same aunt who spit in my food called me and asked me for $15000 has called me though.
Now that I'm divorced, I'm finally happy with just my kids. It's just me and my kids.
