What's a good pre-workout meal to beast out at the gym?

I normally eat just a banana and a apple before my morning workout due to lack of time, but I feel this isn't providing me with enough energy to get to the next level in terms of strength. Recently ive tried to reduce my food portions to minimise fat gain, but I'm still trying to build size and strength.
I don't use supplements such as protein powder and creatine, so I'm pretty much working out the hard way.

I'd appreciate any advice, Thanx

6 eggs... 5whites + 1 whole

you can scramble them or make an omlet with fresh peppers and onions

a bowl of oatmeal

some fresh fruit

Thanx guys. I don't drink milk, so I may have to skip the oatmeal.

Question:

You dont have any problems eating before a morning workout?

Usually I just drink a bunch of water and THEN eat something like a banana and oatmeal afterward.

I have the same problem figuring out what to eat before a workout.

I have limited time because between getting the kids out the door for school, and getting ready for the gym, I struggle with what to eat before a workout.

So is it 12 or 28 almonds ???? This shit is confusing

Stick with 12. Not everybody's body reacts in the same way to them, but once you go over 20 of them studies have shown that you could begin to experience mild hallucinogenic effects.

There's been reported cases of people ingesting 20+ raw almonds then going to the gym to get some weightlifting reps in. While lifting they began to hallucinate and the weightlifting bar appeared to transform into a snake!

Of course these people reacted out of fear and released the snake (in reality the bar) and they dropped the weight of whatever they were lifting on to themselves. :smh:

Raw almonds can do amazing things for you when used responsibly, be careful, fam.

I can respect that...but there's no real proof of that

Cool fam

I know it's gonna result in slow size and strength gains, but I'm just trying to approach weightlifting the natural way. My health is far more important than gaining muscle.

those bananas are high in fiber you gonna have gas through your entire workout. I try to stay away from meals before my workout. If i have an early morning work out then I hit the oatmeal.

Look into almond milk and oatmeal taste just fine with water.

Make sure you get steel cut oatmeal too! Don't use instant oatmeal! I add raisins and walnuts to my oatmeal and a bit of cinnamon. It will fill you up without making you feel stuffed.

I try not to eat at least four hours before the gym. Works for me.

It's mainly for cardio. I don't feel the same doing cardio after eating.
