I can't tell you what specific strategy Charlo is going to use, especially against a fighter that hasn't shown any glaring weakness. It will be a close fight that I think Charlo will win. I don't see anything that tells me Spence washes a legitimate middleweight champ. I'd wanna see Spence beat a middleweight or even super welter before I pick him to beat the champ. Charlo will work behind the jab, taking advantage of his height. Spence has an advantage being a southpaw but that also means he's vulnerable to right hands, which Charlo has a good one.Nice work so far.
Now tell me how EXACTLY Jermall Charlo beats Errol Spence in a middleweight title bout.
Who controls the distance and why?
Who benefits from the fact that Spence is Southpaw and Charlo is orthodox?
Who wins in the clinch?
It's a big jump to middleweight. Besides Sugar Ray Robinson, I can't think of one who did it and was a long reigning champ. Leonard won the title but retired again. Hearns, Cotto and Martinez, none of them were dominate champs. Off the top of my head, I can name at least 6 lightweights who moved up to be great welterweights, name one welterweight who moved up to be a great middleweight champion. The best I can think of was Hearns who lost to Iran Barkley, a mediocre champion.
