Django: Now, all you black folks I suggest you get away from all these white folks.

Django: Not You Steven, you right where you belong.

Django: Oh Cora before you go, will you tell Miss Laura goodbye?

Cora: D-Do what now?

Django: Tell, Miss Laura goodbye

Cora: Bye Miss Laura!

As much as I didn't like the film,

That montage sequence with Django and Schultz riding set to Jim Croce's "I GOT A NAME". That has been my favorite Jim Croce song since I was a kid. It worked perfectly.

And after all the dead folks in Candieland, when Stephen throws down that cane and straightens up. That could have been a great film moment. But it was BLOWN by how it was handled./COLOR]

I liked the part where the dogs tore apart the murdered black man.

I also found very entertaining the random Leonardo DiCaprio ramblings about the talented tenth those made me feel like a special negro.

Pretty much all the imagery of my ancestors in chains being denigrated whipped raped and murdered I found all that shit highly entertaining.

But when that DJango got his revenge for all my peoples suffering that warmed my heart.

Re: what was ur fave scene (part) in Django...( spoilers so if u havent seen it stay

I don't think he brought that much to the role to be honest.
But then again, I've never really rated him as an actor..
He tried to play it a bit too hip hop, when it should have been more Clint Eastwood IMO.

I agree...he didn't ruin it but he sure didn't take it to another level...i give him a 6/10

After the credits finished the three dudes that Jamie Foxx freed before he rode back to Candieland were still sitting in the back of the carriage looking confused and one of them says, "Who was dat nigga?"

Django should have taken Sheba instead of his wife at the end

But seriously
I think she needed to die along with Stephen :hmm:

Best scene - when Django rode on that plantation with that blue outfit on I was crying..

Re: what was ur fave scene (part) in Django...( spoilers so if u havent seen it stay

Jamie Lee Fox has no range as an actor: he has an arrogance about him that pervades into the characters he plays, which makes the characters unbelievable. His only good role was in Ray. The movie wasn't that great to begin with. Jamie, with his portrayal of Django, took the movie from good to mediocre. The movie would have been much better with a different actor playing Django. I think that Don Cheadle would have killed it.

Re: what was ur fave scene (part) in Django...( spoilers so if u havent seen it stay

Yea Jaime fox wasn't that good

You may have a point but I think IT may have a lot to do with the character that he played. The character was subdued and wasn't written very well. We never really got a chance To understand his background. And that's from an almost 3 hour movie.

His whole character is kinda simple and basic. He starts spouting off one liners towards the end like Bruce Willis or something but its not really believable. Jamie was cast perfectly visually and for box office appeal. But for dramatic substance definitely not

Loved the film it was good to see Jamie doing it but his performance was not top notch. He basically played himself without all the comedy. He has always done that. Ray was an exception because he didn't play himself. It was brilliant because he was so deep into that character.

If your character is subdued and soft spoken its hard to stand out
I said the same thing with Deniro's character in Jackie Brown. Deniro purposely downplayed that role because of the way the character was written. And he STILL killed it
But it wasn't a stand out role in the Movie even as a supporting role performance.

Jamie in no way ruined this film. His role was just a little shallow and Jamie is just not that great of an actor.

The six bullets two guns lines. Why are people reviewing a Drive-in movie like it's supposed to be Gone with the Wind?

Re: what was ur fave scene (part) in Django...( spoilers so if u havent seen it stay

The library scene was classic Samuel L Jackson.....

"Thank you Steven.....you re welcome Calvin."

disagree. he was ok. cant do much with the role and qt wanted a cool mainstream dude to sell tix, not a dramatic arts thespian. theres only a handful that would bring in numbers, and play it straight
