What unpopular opinions do you have? Hip-Hop/Rap edition

Nah...they are NOT BETTER than Keith Elam
Guru was nice but I think Preemo was head & shoulders the superior member in Gang Starr. Same with CL Smooth & Pete Rock.

Both producers made better music away from those emcee's. CL Smooth is a better emcee than Guru.

Hey. The tread is called unpopular opinions.

Okay I understand your point on that.

I think my unpopular but I guess strangely also unpopular opinion is that in both those specific cases those pairings were so perfect that no OTHER rapper has been able to consistently sound as good on those 2 super producers beats. No one finds a pocket crafts a hook flows on Preemo / Pete beats like CL & Guru....

And another unpopular opinion i think both those mcs kinda sorts resented the fact that they become permanently attached to one single god level producer like and never really able to venture on their own

* Much respect to the incredible Jazzamatazz series

Specifically because of the Jazzamatazz series and comparing their solo songs i would respectfully disagree

And I'm a CL smooth defender

Just one of many threads saluting CL

And I still say he is a under appreciated MC

And while Pete and Common were incredible still aint as good as with CL

Why would a person go over their friend's house and eat food with the friend's family then all of the sudden leave, proclaiming "the chicken tastes like wood." Then some time later, you're still friends with person? Something ain't right, so you didn't like the food so you abruptly leave without saying anything? That's rude and you're not my friend right now.

Being Hood Rich sounds like a bad thing:

"[Being] hood rich is an extension of the BIG TYMER philosophy. 'Hood rich' is making it happen, although you're from a bad situation," says Baby. "When you don't have anything, you want those things associated with those who do," he says. "[Being] hood rich is when you got a Benz but, nowhere to live; or a gang of Gucci, and your crib is tore-up," says Mannie. "Listen, we're just a couple of cats from the projects with a taste for fine living. We just spit-game [persuasive bragging and slick talking] and talk about the things that we're interested in. Those things just happen to be fine cars, fine jewelry and fine living," he summarizes, matter-of-factly! "We just spit about the things in life that excite us," continues Baby.

If Dame, Chris & Irv (RIP) & Ja all REFUSED to speak on Jay 50 and Ashanti from day one?

They would have been happier, healthier more successful people.
