What unpopular opinions do you have? Hip-Hop/Rap edition

Typical “they sound the same” argument. I listen to music for hours daily, and it’s all the same shit now. Most recently, they ALL pronounce the letter S as SHH. SHHtreets, SHHHweet, eshhhhhh. What elssssh? Who elshhh? Nothing elshhhh? Beatshhh. Freakshhh. Shhhhtress. Was regional, now they all do it. Even the singers.

100 percent

They knew the sampling laws and waited til after the song got big tried to get it cleared
I've told this story before. A friend of mine was in the studio when they were working on this song. Someone brought up the clearance issue, and one of them, she couldn't remember who, said, "Fuck them. Don't nobody know them niggas. Shit, we're doing them a favor!". :smh:

I promise you that was Peter

I don't understand, how folks put her as the greatest female MC after having one album. People discredit Biggie for having two albums but change the rules for her. That album wasn't all that good in the first place.

There should be a two album rule for any discussion of ranking an MC.I understand, quality vs quantity argument but can an artist have at least two albums before talking about them in any type of ranking.

Ill take Lyte,Roxanne Shante and Latifah over her.

My man said the miseducation wasn’t that good…wow

Unanswerable questions that have lingered for years in hip hop:

1. Does it really take two?
2. Is the bridge really over?
3. Was it really a good day?
4. Do you really like it raw?
5. Do you really have 99 problems?
6. Does Monie really have a middle?
7. Are Ladies really first?
8. Does a bitch really have to have your money?
9. Do we really have to fuck the police? Oh, yes, we do.
10. Is he really just your friend?
11. How long DID they mourn him?
12. Who DOES run it?
13. Is a nigga with a muthafuckin gun REALLY the man with the master plan?

It wasn't good

It has one great song and one good song the rest are super trash. I wouldn't let a stray cat listen to that bullshit...

You’re entitled to your opinion it’s in the extreme minority but it’s your opinion…hell I know people who don’t like thriller and Bad….crazy Miseducation is one of the few albums I can just let play

I wonder how many other rappers can write a complete song in their head?

Hold on I mean do it WELL?

I dont think it MATTERS?

But its impressive.

Ghost is not only right

But I believe there is a well funded and well organized group who wants to aggressively silence individuals who are denouncing this continued negative behavior in the black community.

I've finally admitted to myself that X-Clan wasn't very deep, they had a few catch-phrase words and allowed their audience to run with that. They weren't saying very much, "Black Watch, Sissies." Then they would random mentioned the pyramids, reference to Black this and Black that, and such; they had the appearance of saying deep shat, but they weren't saying much at all. However, they had some good beats, though.

I've been complaining about this for awhile. Most of the opinion, discussion, and/or sports talk threads eventually turn into a social media dumping ground.

^^^^

I remember decades ago I was warning dudes on here that condoning trolling would lead to the downfall of intelligent society and discourse as we know it

Nas Life is good album dropping is when ny hip hop.lost its grip on the game?

@dik cashmere
@ViCiouS

Can you explain that to me?

Does he mean hip hop is dead?

And even if its THAT album... how?

I love buck but he’s not always right

To say Nas album was the start but hesitate to say radio played any part in ny hip hop changing your argument is moot

Shebro said ny rappers are the minor league and played west coast and southern rap

To the point ny rappers started emulating those sounds just to get radio play

Then you have envious who if he had an issue with you, that you didn’t even know was an issue he didn’t play your records

Why after all these years are people who were ACTUALLY THERE still afraid to say the truth into a microphone?

For some they still want to make a living in music

If you notice some of the most outspoken are at the end of their career/life or they truly have given up on the industry and said f it
