Lotta folks really don't get exactly how sick and deep this country is with racism...The avg. hiring manager/dean of admissions is a middle aged white man scanning hundreds of applications to quickly exclude candidates that may stand out in away he perceives negatively..Such as poor grammar, addresses from the wrong zip-code or bama/ghetto ass names..Not everybody is makin the pros.

Not to say we need to walk away from our culture and root, but if we want to give our kids a fighting chance, we must (no matter how hard it is) walk away from these ghetto names. We as grownups know it’s hard out there and that you get judged not only by your skin color but also by your name. If you’re lucky and your son/daughter is a standout athlete and will most definitely go pro in his/her sport, then no worries but if he/she will be out there looking for regular jobs like them white kids then it would matter what the first name is.

Side note: I was in the army with a red hair white kid named Antonio Nunez. Other white soldiers used to fuck with him by leaving taco shells on is rucksack or at his room's door in the barracks. To them, his name is not white enough so they bully him for that.
