Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Martian Manhunter, Flash, and Aquaman are DC's magnificent 7 roster of the Justice League.

I'm ashamed to say it but I don't what is Marvel's version. So what roster, if there is, is the Avenger's best(Ok I gather that would include Captain America and Thor)?

What would be your superbeast roster of the Avengers?

Marvel does not have a roster of 7 that are truly iconic. Marvel thing when they first came out and which to this day is still a tag of their line is that their teams are small.

I would say...

Captain America - Strategics/Commander
Thor - Muscle/Magic/Cosmic
Ironman - Muscle/Tech
Wasp - Stealth
Hawkeye - Strategics/Sniper
Scarlet Witch - Magic/Disruptor
Quasar - Cosmic/Higher Intellect

Actually I would say the avengers have a front 9 not 7. I would switch quasar for Vision and add Ant man and Quicksilver. Basically the ulitimates version including the Vision.

I had to put a cosmic aware character in there to cover all spheres of influence and level of threat awareness.

Vision, Ant Man and Quick Silver are great but with the line up I stated - They already covered their areas.

Quasar? How did he come back to life anyways?

Quasar (Wendell Vaughn) apparently died in the Annihilation Nova series. After the Annihilation Wave took him out the Quantum Bands went to Phyla Nor-Vell, who became the 2nd Quasar and just (apparently) died again in Guardians Of The Galaxy #19 after (apparently) being killed by Father Mentor in Guardians 9. In Guardians 11 the Quantum Bands fell off her wrists. In ish 12 when Phyla gained Quantum Sword from the gut of the Dragon Of The Moon, Wendell appeared in spirit form and Quasar was reborn. There's a lot more to the story of course in the proper order of events. In the Nova series during Secret Invasion Wendell first appeared to Richard Rider during a fight with the Skrulls in an upstate New York facility. Quasar winds up saving Rider's life and helps him regain the position of Nova Prime after he recovers the bands.

Ok thanx. I knew he(Wendell) died in Annihilation. He death was the only one that really seem to matter given that storyline didn't involve any of the "big guns" so to speak. I was surprise when I heard his name mentioned again.

In spirit form......... :hmm:

Phyla Vell died shortly award becoming the new Quasar? Oh my bad you said apparently.

Dammit Marvel :smh:

Wendall died hard. I think he is going to stay around as the conscious of the bands much like Ego was at one point.

Annihilus, Ultron, Kang and Doctor Doom are some of the villains that you don't want to mess with.

With the exception of odd stories here and there - It takes TEAMS of heroes to bring one of these cats down.

Spider-Man
Hulk
Captain America
Iron Man
Thor
Wolverine
Dr. Strange

Spider-Man is not reliable. He will always be impulsive and go on the side of his family over the responsibility of the Avengers.

Hulk is too unstable.

Dr. Strange is too distracted he has a responsibility far greater then the call of the Avengers.

Those 3 choices will have the Avengers constantly trying to handle internal affairs 90% of the time.

In my opinion, Black Panther is the closest analog to Batman in the Marvel Universe. He would have to be included in the "Magnificent 7". I'd take out Wasp because she's more of an "Atom" type character than a "stealth" type.

Yeah he is. I just don't think he would stay on the team for long that they can count on him because he has obligations elsewhere.

If the Avengers had a core seven man roster, it would be:

Captain America
Iron Man
Thor
Hawkeye
Wasp
Hank Pym
Scarlet Witch

Cap, Iron Man & Thor are the holy trinity of the Avengers.
Hank & Wasp are orginal members.
Hawkeye & Scarlet Witch are proably the longest tenured members (and Quicksilver). They get the nod because they are characters are built around the Avengers exclusively.

I agree with this line up but I would add the Vision in, Why????
Well what the fuck else did he had to do??? He was an android with no other function in life than just being there when Ultron attack again!!!

yeah it was a toss up for me between the Vision & Scarlet Witch. The witch got the nod cause she been around longer as an Avenger
