What Are Good Jobs For Felons??

Damn! That's Cold But Funny:lol:
He may not even qualify to for that type of job depending on the nature of his crime.
Crimes like Armed Robbery, Theft, you're pretty much fucked out of any position where you would be in contact with money or merchandise.

Actually, Publix does hire ex-felons....huge tax breaks....I worked at a Publix warehouse one summer(not a felon though)..:hmm:

This is a good idea, but I do not think he can get a Federal Loan due to the fat that he is a Felon.

I have many Felons as students, and it is rough for them. They made a mistake, so I feel as though thet need a chance. I think it is unfair to not hire Felons. Period!

I think you can get a federal loan for school as long as the conviction doesn't involve drugs.

I used to work with a lot of excons when I worked for temporary services back in the day.

A lot of those companies were "temp to hires".

Get him employed quick because it is easy for brothas to backslide once they get out.

I was in Michigan though....dont know how cali may be different.

any time a person doesnt want to reveal what felony it was, its usually rape.....

tell ur boy to look into tryin to get a cdl and becoming a trucker....good money.....

The best bet around here is going to a temp agency...problem is most of the time you aint gonna stick...most of that shit is warehouse type of jobs...its ok money but you will work there for like a month or two and be let go more than likely...shit getting a job is hard for people with a college education...it is damn near impossible to get a decent job with a felony...which is why its so important not to get trapped in the system...I know so many niggas who have tried for years to get a decent job with felonies with not much luck...I don't know not ONE felon who would prefer to still hustle if they could get a good job.

1. Call ALL (not some, ALL) of the temporary employment agencies in your area. Tell them that you are an employer seeking potential employees. Ask them about their "Screening process."

Some of the employment agencies will say -
"We check into a person's criminal background for 7 years."

Some will say -
"We check credit backgrounds, but not criminal."

Some will say -
"We only require the applicant to take a physical and a drug test."

You will obtain a myriad of responses.

2. Make a list of all of the employment firms that, using their process, you will PASS their employment screening.

3. APPLY TO ALL OF THE AGENCIES on your list.

4. When you get a job, regardless of the pay, work yourself INTO THE FREAKING GROUND. Smile, don't complain. Come in early and stay later than required. Develop a GREAT reputation. Very soon, you will be promoted from within and no one has to know about your past.

This is EXACTLY what I did.....5 years ago. Now, I earn $55,000 a year and NO ONE knows about my past

My personal experience. I am also a convicted felon (15 years ago). Now, I can vote, own a firearm, and have a GREAT reference from an employment that believes that I am the greatest asset to her company.

That's what you do. Now GET TO WORK!!!

yeah.....i worked for a warehouse....we had truck drivers coming and going....

and some of them were ex cons...it really depends on your crime and state.....and the company....

since the trucking industry is always looking for more drivers its not hard to get a job with a trucking company as a ex con...

I think some states will actually pay for a covicted felon to get his CDL....

Truckers make damn good money...especially if you drive across the country or across the boarder...more miles more $$$$$$

Hazmat...doubles or triples endorsement....more $$$$$$$$$

tanker endorsement more $$$$$

they had some drivers making 80k+....

the only thing is to make that money you need to be on the road constantly....driving alot of miles across the USA....

Not sure about where you live, but I know in the Philly area construction is a good line. It's pretty good money (especially if you can get in with the Union), but you have to find a company willing to hire you. There are a lot of buildings going up in downtown Philly so there are a lot of jobs. If you can get on with a company, you can join the local union which will allow you to get better benefits and a higher wage. Again, I'm not sure where he lives, but he should look into this. Especially if he has drive. If you get there before the Foreman gets to the site that shows great iniative.
If he can pass the entry and random drug test, construction is the way to go. I have seen dudes turn their life around on a construction site, but it needs to be somewhere away from where his boyz hang...

what's a backhoe?

are you union?

I feel some Ducktales coming on...
if he's Union and have been in the Union for a while, I dont doubt it. I know Operating Engineers in Philadelphia make a lot. I thought it was around $40/hour, but maybe the collective bargaining agreement in his city is different.

same here... O'Es get like 30+ in the midwest..

what's your Trade playa?

I use to be a laborer. Not active right now. My father has been a business agent for the union here for almost two decades. I still keep my union card up to date though.

Construction.. to be a little more specific roofing... I have personally landed two ex cons these types of gigs... funny thing is one time I got the dude work making more then me... lol... but yeah construction is the way to go...

It mostly will depend on his charge.Drug charges pretty much get overlooked for the most part.Any theft and robbery charges is what will fuck him.

-Construction is his best bet. Also tell him to go to any local union hall especially for Ironworkers. They don't care about backgrounds.Just be able to work and make good money after he completes the apprenticeship program.

-Trucking is good but alot of companies dont hire ex-cons period. And excons can't get HAZMAT endorsements based on the Homeland Security Act.And that is where the real $$$$ is in driving trucks.Hauling fuel and shit you can pull between $60k and $80k driving local.

-I got a job in a chemical plant thru an agency.Started me off at $12/hr now im up to $24.65 after a year and a half.Going to school for Process Technology and Im a process operator.Sad thing is my company might go bankrupt pretty soon. They started laying people off in the front office a few weeks ago.

I did almost 10yrs on lock.Saw all kinds of dudes. Some rich some poor. The white boys with the rape and molestation charges always got out to good jobs.I saw some of em since I been out.

I'm a Tinner(sheet metal).. do plenty of HVAC work

it's bread to be made in the industry

Real talk tell him to join a union they dont care about his background. He will make magga money. They will train him to weld or be an electrician or something.... Good pay and lots of overtime and double time on the weekends...

anyone can do that with a 15y/o felony all company only check 7 years even the airport only checks 10 years wat about the guy who just comes out and doesnt have 7 or 10 years to wait and neds a job now?

I caught my shit in 1996 and I have been applying for all kinds of jobs in fear of the plant closing and my felony is still fucking up my shit.

I know females with bullshit misdemeanor assualt charges and companies trip over even that.

HEY NO BULLSHIT READ THIS. Tell him to get a CDL and drive trucks or go into some type of construction or a mix of both. He will work hard but he wont have to worry about dough. Like quick hands those dudes that can work them machines can make some good dough and have a good job. We depend on those guys to get our job done, and i appreciate a good backhoe/trackhoe operator. Just tell him to kick the dope and keep his nose clean

When I was a PO i had folks making big bucks in the repo game and construction. I also had folks making good paper selling cars and doing taxes. It helps that they were white though.

Thats cool too if you can keep your head right but being on the road can lead to drug problems.
