Westbrook laughs when asked if Curry is an underrated defender

that's the nature of competition though

i noticed in that video they wasn't buddy buddy with him

and didn't even want to give him daps etc

i think they knew they shouldn't inspire him too much

all this dialog is good for Steph to work on his defense

I think people forget that Jordan got worse flack for his defense until he put in the work

it's all competition Bills

I'm all good with competition.

But its funny how everyone complains about today's players are too buddy buddy
I bet Curry doesn't feel that way
and he's the ONLY one who doesn't feel that way lol

the media loves him

he is a don't rock the boat dude so of course he is going to draw heat

what you don't understand?

he got to remember the media LOVED OJ too

don't let all that media love get to his head

stick with the players

But the problem with it is, he is not a basketball god but he is absolutely a top 5 player in the nba. that shouldn't be up for discussion. lebron is still #1
and then you have to argue to move him from out of the #2 spot given his real impact all the things he can do as well as the results on the court.

that's about as unbiased as it can get.

And that's cool. But you have to admit when it comes to Steph and the Ws there is very little middle ground. I don't have a good explanation for it either. The Heat weren't even this polarizing.

I can't help but feel an undercurrent of "light skinned negro" playing out

Is it just me?

I see it. I'm a lifelong Warriors fan but can see that much of Curry's hype and love has to do with him being so fair skinned. I can't think of a media darling like him that is darker skinned. Its actually pretty rare for a Black athlete to be shown as a father. The media usually focuses on the Black Athlete's mother and hardly ever show their children. Curry is good and had 2 amazing seasons, but there are quite few players that have had stellar careers for far longer and don't get the media love. Why Curry?

He hasn't been put in a position to rock the boat or not rock the boat.
We label him a not rock the boat dude but when has he ran from anything anymore than anyone else has? That's all im saying.
They love him cause they love him not because HE made them feel safe. HE didn't speak with a nasal tone and tuck in his shirt in his pants to make them feel comfortable.
they just doing all of that on their own.

exactly my point.
i don't either.
im not gonna worry myself about it either but all of it stinks like these dudes mad that the warriors done came up after a history of being shitty.

He's been in and around the NBA for most of his life..

Prob why a lot of players hate him now cause they ain't grow up with that priviledge.. Certainly not his fault

Nah

there is some other shit

he does make them feel safe

same with kobe though

but the reaction was not the same

Nah

i haven't been exposed to it man. i need to do some more research then
all ive seen him do is talk about being a christian... which isn't anything new and def not on a tebow level
and support cam newton and the panthers.
that's about it.
i haven't seen him talk bad about black people which is my measuring stick for whether or not you're trying to make them feel safe.

Nah

Steph is himself which usually makes people feel comfortable.
What NBA player makes them uncomfortable? Please don't say Lebron. KD is makes them feel safe. CP3 does. Westbrook. Wade.

It's not just his lightskindedness...fuck off spellcheck. It's the facetthat he's safe and speaks well and is agreeable and has a cute funny daughter... He's all the stuff the media likes.

Shit, Delonte West is light...

What makes him safe?

Lot of weird hate towards Steph. He makes those crazy ass shots look so effortless, but dude puts in a lot of work. He's definitely one of, if not the best the best shooter in NBA history. No one said anything about him making the all defensive team. Whatever..I hope they light up OKC Saturday.

I'll give you that with Russell. Even though I think we as black people let while people or the (media) determine who's safe!to us. I don't see a difference between Russell and Cam as far "blackness" goes beside Russ white wife. Which he's rectifying. But with Steph he was going to lead the boycott of the clippers racist owner, even though I think it was blowing smile but step up and said they would boycott. That's black empowerment. He talks shit while playing, dances, celebrates all shit whites hate about Black athletes.

Same thing that makes Russell Wilson safe, but Cam scary. I think we all know what people are trying to say. We just can't eloquently describe it.

the expectation that he would never venture to go against the grain on some black empowerment shit

Didn't see the whole game but I'm sure the refs had a hand in the Warriors win last night. The league can't have the first ever unanimous MVP losing in the Western conference finals 4-1. That would make the voters look stupid.

3kingmusic's video

Hating ass crabs need to cut that shit. And Westbrook can laugh all he wants that nigga can't play defense

Now why can Steph not only get away with that, but it's thought of as endearing. But they're still mad at Bron for "Not 1, not 2........."

Media loved Lebron pre Miami he used dance on the sideline with teammates and the midis loved it

The sooner you all admit you hate light skin the better off you'll be. You hate it. You hate light brown blacks and are attracted to dark skin like faggits. You want a big dark man to protect your faggot asses. Like skin shade has anything to do with toughness. You're like crackas. You're saying dark blacks are more menacing and dangerous. Don't you see what you idiot homosexual are doing?

Yeah he does. That's why they are going to watch his reaction IF he loses this or the next series. If he handles it with what they deem 'class,' it's all good. If he does some leaving the podium shit, the media is going in. Because he talked A LOT of shit while up top. Cat said he wanted to bring a chip back to Akron. :hmm:

He talked shit before he got up top.
His competitive nature is why he is where he is now.
But its a problem with US because they treat him different and he ain't done shit
he's not tap dancing he's not saying shit against black people he got a black wife and is raising his family and we resent him for that shit. lol

dude is front and center out there supporting cam newton and shit.

dude said he'd boycott with the clippers situation and the fucking clippers on the damn team wasn't even considering that shit.

if they lob him softball questions then he gives softball answers that's not his fault.
