Watchmen Drayonis REVIEW (I luv it, U hate it)

This flim is just flat out bizarre, and too fucking long. I loved it in a funny kind of way tho. I hated the fact that the movie sucked, but I loved the characters at the same time.

Bottom Line: I had a better time reading the comics.

Negro please.

You read the Comic, and your complaint is that the movie was "too fucking long"? If you read the Comic then you should be happy that they stayed as faithful as they did, because I was expecting much worse. You probably didn't even read the comic.

I guess this version of the movie would have suited you more.

plot holes are a muthafuka, i was thinkin the same thing. now, this man can teleport anything anywhere in the fukin GALAXY, and they gotta go through all this cloak and dagger shit AND blast a city to save the world? why not just THINK about turning every nuke on the planet into a pile of dirty socks and be done with it?

You do know - That if Doc. Manhattan had done that - To every nation's nuclear stockpile - That would have had a different effect.

It would be the same as a gov coming to your home and taking all of your weapons for your own good.

The context of what they Adrian did and why he did it - Was right on. No plot hole. Ppl won't make no fucking bold move UNLESS they are force to.

If the idea is beyond you just say so.

Just peeped the movie today. Damn good review Dray

This Movie Was Garbage!!

if you like looking at a naked Blue Man's penis all through the movie (cause they showed his dick a lot)...then this flick's for you.

had to turn my head away everytime that blue motherfucker was on the screen.

Jesus christ you're a homo. I didn't even notice it. The fact that all you could see was his meat says something about YOU.

there ya'll go, insulting ppls intelligence just because they dont like what you like. if i take all your nukes away, what are you gonna do about it? throw a rock at me? and besides, gun rights and quantum mechanics are 2 different areas bruh. so youre tellin me, that adrians move was correct, (im assumin adrian was the dude that set off the weapon, not the dude with blueballs) and not the actions of a madman? or if youre tellin me adrian was mr bluesack, then it was ok for him to stand by and let the shit happen when he coulda stopped it? i reiterate: DUMB PLOT HOLE if mr purple nuts didnt care about mankind, why spend so much time on it? why bother freaking a woman down? why bother even coming to this madmans base to stop him if you dont care?

and the GN sucked too, comics, all that shit. Watchmen sucked blue monkey balls and thats just that. And I'm a genius. so there.

If Dr. Manhattan took away the Nukes then they'd just create more, not to mention they'd still go to war. Remember Ozymandias wanted to create a a World where there Worlds Nations would be United against a common threat(in other words a Utopia with no war).

so youre tellin me, that adrians move was correct, (im assumin adrian was the dude that set off the weapon, not the dude with blueballs) and not the actions of a madman?

There is no clear cut answer. Was he right to kill millions to save billions? It's up to you to decide whether he was right or wrong Genius.

How can you even bash the movie when YOU didn't pay attention. The only reason he stayed on Earth was because he was with Laurie, after she left him he had no reason to stay hence why he went to Mars. The reason he went to Ozymandias' base was because Laurie(on Mars) convinced him Mankind was worth saving. What was hard to understand about that?

He didn't kill Ozy because there was no point. The deed was done, unity between nations had been obtained. Why would he kill Ozy, expose his plan, and let everyone that died in vain?

Movie was dope

It will probably go over a lot of peoples heads, because the talking is too much for them to comprehend. They needed more titties and violence.

The last Rambo will be sufficient :hmm:

A Sista I roll with couldn't wait to see "WATCHMEN". She had no knowledge of the history or the hype about this book. Doesn't even like or read comics. But was pulled in by the trailers.

So we went to an IMAX showing a few days ago. And girl can't stop talking about the film. She was totally pulled in. Understood it. And feels it's the BEST film she's seen so far this year. And we're probably going to see it again. In IMAX!

I may buy her theTPB. Because I ain't lending out my $75 Absolute Edition. And I have all the original issues except the last one (I gave up on comics in the late 80s for a bit). And when I had the TPBs, I always ended up letting folks keep them, or never got them back.

Me personally,

I was entranced by the film. And with all the audience controversy about it, I feel "WATCHMEN" will be this decade's "2001". A bold attempt that will be much more appreciated over a period of time.

My major quibble was some of the dialogue. Some of it came of too "comic-booky" for me in a film environment. But Rorschach, The Comedian, and Dr. Manhattan were true to form. The other characters not so much. The film worked as a murder mystery within a comic book historical "period" piece. And the opening credit sequence is one of the BEST in movie history.

I really wished that WB and Paramount would have taken a trilogy approach to this. But considering the book and its tone, characters and actors, probably took the wiser approach for a one film treatment.

I saw the movie this weekend at Imax.... I enjoyed it. Seeing as how it was IMAX I really didnt appreciate the zoom in on Dr. Manhattan's stuff.........

Anywho, I got the plot lines, never read the comic (although I am a longtime collector) and still think the movie was alright. Yea it was long but Ive seen longer, yea it was deep but Ive seen deeper. Everyone that says the movie was extra deep Im happy for you that you have expanded your minds in some way...... but this isnt the heaviest thing to hit movie screens. Still enjoyed the flick

Dr. Manhattan is a huge plot hole because he is too powerful. He could easily get rid of all the nuclear weapons and material in the world so no one can make weapons that powerful. He could of just threatened to destroy the world and everyone would of got their act together.

Blowing up NY is clearly a temporary solution. Like after 911 everyone was acting so united and then they got over it, humans get over things fast.

i actually bought the graphic novel to read before i saw the movie because everything i read about it said it would be difficult to absorb.

People were bringing tons of kids into the theatre and i just laughed to myself because i guess they assumed they were going to get Spider-Man.They were not prepared for extensive sex scenes ,nudity, and ultra violence.

Blame the stupid/selfish ass parents for actions like that. I love how they bring their kids to see R rated movies like it is cool.

You can say that he was a plot hole, but he really wasn't. If he was the type of dude that really cared about humanity, he would've gotten rid of all weapons. Since his stake in humanity was steadily declining for years, he only acted when asked to by people who he still cared about or the President which probably amounted to only 2 people. Also it would have been out of his character to threaten anyone. He was so aloof & was only concerned with his projects.

Blowing up NY is clearly a temporary solution. Like after 911 everyone was acting so united and then they got over it, humans get over things fast.

Yeah. That was confirmed by Dr. Manhattan saying 'nothing ever ends'. People take take shit for granted.

He isn't a plot hole, his character just went over your head.

The guy obviously didn't care about Humanity, they showed you this multiple times throughout the book/movie(not stopping Blake, television interview, not telling anyone about JFK's impending assassination, ect). By the time he was convinced to stop the impending crisis the deed was done.

Seriously I cant figure out why some of you are trying to make Dr. Manhattan out to be some sort of saint that will Babysit humanity when he doesn't even see a real a difference between a dead body, and a real one. He is not Superman, I mean the man left for another Galaxy to create life the second he didn't have any lose ends to tie. He wants to do his own thing, and leave humans to work out their own affairs.

Ozy is a powerful man, that was just the first step of his plan. He was going to work behind the scenes to make sure things went the way he wanted. Was it temporary? At the end Ozy ask Dr. Manhattan before he leaves "Did I do the right thing in the End?" to which Dr. Manhattan replies "End? Nothing ever ends." Which is one of the major points of the book. Even after everything that was done will humans still find a way destroy each other?

All do respect you missed the forest for the trees. The point IS if you take everything away humans WILL start throwing rocks at each other.

"gun rights and quantum mechanics are 2 different areas bruh"

Actually in the context of human nature, they are the same thing; a means to and end of destroying life.

The point was the change the mentality, insecurity, humanity...that wanted to destroy life, even if it meant its own destruction.

By making Dr. Manhattan the "bad guy", the humans could unite for peace and not destroy each other. And by Dr. Manhattan not giving a fuck, he could go away and not upset that dynamic.

Man....did you really watch the movie?

Several cities across the world were destroyed to make the world UNITE against Dr. M.

Threatening to destroy everyone was not good enough.

Threats....are just threats.....and he just didnt care that much.

Threats....are just threats.....and he just didnt care that much.

If he didn't care he would of been left. The U.S. used him during the war and they could of used him to stop any other country from building up their nuclear technology.

And people stop acting like the movie was complicated and most people can't understand it.

He didn't start off not caring.

It was a gradual process.

He began to care less and less over the years.

He does however maintain a slight level of humanity.

Saw it. After all was said and done and I had a chance to really digest what I saw, I really gained an appreciation of the complexity of the material. Good movie. Mad violent too  .

It's tragic how some ppl say they like or hate the movie and still don't get it.

If you did not like it - say so - for the reason you believe. Saying the movie sucked because of shit you could not grasp is just putting your mental worth down a peg.
