During my college days, I was going to get a parttime college job as a security guard. When I mentioned it to a girl friend of mine, who was a professional shoplifter, she told me I should never try to apprehend a shoplifter. She said that a shoplifter won't fight cops, but will not think twice about cutting a security guard. She said the rule when confronted by a security guard was slice and run. Needless to say, I passed on the job.
