I get it but wasn't it said it was the wrong car? Aren't they supposed to check the VIN#? You can't just grab a car because it 'looks' like the car you're looking for?!

Of course that's why the truck driver was wrong.

Security guard can't just threaten to shoot someone because he thinks that person is stealing a car.

If the truck driver was threatening to run him over or pulled a gun out himself, then and only then can he shoot the driver.
