Great video and good break down... Don’t let the thread title mislead you. He’s simply sharing some of the issues you were encountering. He’s not suggesting that you shouldn’t retire here.

20 BEST Reasons NOT To RETIRE in Vietnam

Life has taught me to stop worrying about whether the populace in a particular place likes me or not ... whether they're welcoming to Blacks or not. As long as my presence doesn't induce a credible physical threat or a poisoning threat, then fuck 'em! There are few places in the world more racist than the USA, and I've endured decades of that place so I'm case hardened and immune to the bullshit. I remember mentioning to you, Buzz, that I was open to considering Hurghada, Egypt because of their fabled low cost of living. But there are some places in Asia that rival Egypt's ridiculously low prices. And I still may consider Hurghada further, but I do worry about possible feelings of social isolation. There simply isn't a strong Black presence there. Now, up north in Cairo and Alexandria you'll find some Africans sprinkled throughout but most will be working as either hookers or instead, house helps without free time or much outdoor access. Africans get fucked over so badly when north of the Sahara. The GF is really excited about the prospect of fleeing to any international locale. She's never been anywhere outside of Kenya so she's pretty wide-eyed as I mentioned various spots I'm considering. One area of the world that I myself have little knowledge of is Asia, so we're also kicking around the idea of Bangkok, where we can both qualify for a 90-day tourist visa, then split over to Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh or the P.I. for another 90 days and then return to Kenya for a 6-month visa reset. My first choice would have been Kuala Lumpur. I can stay 90 days, but the GF can't stay longer than 30 days on a Kenyan passport, so that's ruled out. We'll see. But it won't be long that I'll either need to abandon Kenya or pay the government $2500 USD in retirement visa fees on a yearly basis. That sucks ass! A lot will depend on the pace of my slowly deteriorating health and advancing age. As always, I'll make the best of what life plans to throw at me. Chao!
