Long game is actually 2020 and beyond. 2018 can hopefully snag some governorships.... but in congress, more Dems from unsafe states/districts are up for re-election than repubs, so there's not much chance of any big congressional gains util 2020. So people gotta keep the energy going even if the dems don't gain, or even if they lose a few seats in 2018.
