Man, he fucked this up. We could have had Paul, and made a run at Dwight. This fucks up NO more though. They would have gotten players back for CP instead of him just walking away from them. In addition to that, who the hell is gonna wanna deal with them while the league owns them now? If I was an owner or GM of another team, New Orleans would be toxic until they were bought by someone. There is no way in hell I'd want to trade anyone to them while Stern and the NBA are in charge. They set that team back with this stupid shit.

The Knicks can sign Paul outright when he becomes a free agent due to the new CBA rule on contract restructuring. Hell we can trade for him now if melo, stat restructure their deals if the Knicks were so inclined.

Well looks like they may use that trade exception they just received for Odom to take on Turkagolu's contract in a trade for Howard. Or they are shedding salary.. but something is up... just not sure what it is right now.
The rule states any player can restructure a contract by basically back loading the deal. So if the average salary is $15 million a year, they can do $10 mill one season $20 mill on the backend.
Major risk by the player because under new CBA deals aren't guaranteed 100% if waived.

Rose is more of a scorer than paul and Chi doesn't have a second scorer. CP3 is the better PG tho.
New CBA allows for contracts to be redone. Reduce melo and stat to 12 mil add an extra yr or two and sign him. They do not need to trade for him if the league won't trade him to begin with just sign him outright
