Well just on paper imo. UCLA just signed 5 players in the top 50. I know Webber, Howard, Rose, and King were highly recruited not sure about Jackson.

Yea I know that Mich Fab Five will always be remembered b/c they had a big impact on the game. It would be tight to see that happen again. Like I said on paper UCLA's five looks to be better just hope it translate into the actual season.

The Michigan Fab 5 were true freshmen starters that made it to the NCAA Finals two years in a row, now if a team starts 5 freshmen and they can win a National Championship I would call that better.

Well an update on the UCLA FAB FIVE:

Holiday: playing ok, but is not playing like he won HS player of the year only avg 10.5 pts/gm but has a nice overall game

Lee: had a breakout game then got hurt a little too wild at times.

Gordon: Is a beast will dunk at any chance he gets and will toss your shit if you don't come strong.

Anderson: Ok backup point nothing special right now.

Bobo Morgan: Big disappointment this boy is huge but tries to take charges and shit. He is a fucking project.

On the level of Mich's Fab Five not even close. BRUINS BITCHES!!

:lol: As you can see I'm a big UCLA fan but i'm realistic when it comes to Basketball and realize that Mich Fab 5 would stomp the Bruins. I was believing the hype in Westwood before the season started.

Jrue Holiday is a dissapointment so far considering all the hype that nigga got. They painted him out to be a one and done type player...he needs a few years

You right I completely agree but I dont mind him staying for another 2 yrs. I think he lacks that killer instinct. He plays as if he afraid of pissing Collison and Shipp off if tries to take over when in reality he probably is the Bruins best player based on talent.

Since that talk between the 4 dudes UCLA has been killing :dance:
and if you been watching Sportcenter the results speak for themselves. Lets see how it turns out vs ASU and U of A.

Yeah they are playing this year. I will admit that it was all hype. Only one of the freshmen start Jrue Holiday(he won High School Player of the year and was rated like #3 player in the nation). He has not have the impact that everyone thought he would have, neither have the others.

Now that they are running a lot more you are starting to see the ability in all of them especially Holiday. These guys are just too athletic for the UCLA's coach offensive system.

i wrote a post in this thread once about the fundamental flaws of UCLA, but those damn database errors didn't save it. so i said fuck it, i ain't about to type all that shit again.

coach howland recruits athletes first, basketball players second.

his philosophy is to try and put the best five ATHLETES on the floor at any given moment to try and overwhelm the opponent.

how you rate his success in recent years depends on if you are a glass half full or glass half empty type of person. i think today shows what happens when you subscribe to his mentality.

:lol: I think his problem is he is too stuck in his ways. No zone, calling time outs way too much(he calls them when his team is on a run), his style of offense just sucks(even though they shot well this year). The pg just dribbles the ball until shot clock is low gets pick and roll and makes a decision.

After the first like 5 games everyone in Bruin world knew this would be a rebuilding year so why did he not play the freshmen more?

Also I did not think Moute would leave early for the NBA.
 
Hey you can make another one about Memphis. Their recruiting class is sick and they may also add the top PG to the class. UCLA has a squad and those games with USC next year should be good.

:( Well my dream of seeing these 5 players together for 2 years is now over. 99.9% sure Jrue Holiday will stay in the draft. If you watched him this season you would say no way but the scouts and Chad Ford would say "Not so fast."

LOL when you get 5 players in the top 50 and one being considered by many best in the class you got to believe in the hype.

Bad thing is this class was probably one of the worst ever. I just took a look at it and realized that only Brandon Jennings and Tyreke Evans are the ones who are really balling at all. Monroe is another that seems he will be good.

So UCLA was lucky enough to get the #1 recruiting class of a weak class.
