no, the writing is AMAZING.

they take bullshit conventional soap opera tropes, wrap it up in some very smart edited scenes, smooth it through with go nowhere dialogue that lulls the viewer into near sleep, then slaps them in the face with some trashy over the top shock bait.

in other words, the wrting presents bullshit in such a way that it actually entertains.

i have to give them props for that feat alone.
