Monsieur Spade

Clive Owen easily slips into the gumshoes of the legendary detective. Some 20 years after The Maltese Falcon trouble still seems to find him even though he has settled or tried to settle into a more quiet life. A slow burn at first but as more characters are introduced and multiple murders occur the story becomes more involving

Fool Me Once

Another great and involving twisty series from Harlan Coben
A lot of great raw emotion is on display especially from Adeel Akhtar
Multiple story threads all wrapped up in a mystery hits all the right notes of frustration, regret and deception

Enjoyed the premiere as well.

The slow burn feel has a nice, deliberate pace to it.

I liked that exchange with the girl when he says to her to "read the book" if things go awry at the house.

True Detective & Fargo recap podcasts ...

Enjoyed the first 2 episodes of True Detective. Checked them out on Tuesday evening. Tone and feel / mood of the show is good. That state of darkness adds to the eeriness of it all.

Nice callbacks and references to season 1 of True Detective.

Been enjoying hearing the podcasters and reviewers talking about them on recap shows in recent days.

Another series I’m gonna have to get caught up on.

Haven't listened to this yet but bookmarked:

Isn't it well known that James Epstein Woods likes them young?

James Woods, 66, had people talking when he was dating 26-year-old Ashley Madison.
But the actor outdid himself Tuesday night at the "White House Down" premiere in New York City, where he showed off his new 20-year-old girlfriend, Kristen Bauguess.

Btw these chics are not victims, they are willing to swallow old dick for a louie purse.

This miniseries debuted yesterday with 2 episodes.

Looks like Cary Fukunaga directed the first 4 (of 9) episodes. He directed and exec' produced season 1 of True Detective which aired back in 2014.

Gonna check out a few episodes next week, in rotation with True Detective and Monsieur Spade. Need to circle back to The Tourist (season 2) as well before Tokyo Vice (season 2) starts in a few weeks.

The Top 5 podcast broke this down well. Especially the way they handled Tuskegee I'm a less enthusiastic
