He’s really built up quite a name in recent years with his assorted projects. Prior to that people mostly recognized his name from directing a few movies. Cool to see him get more mainstream shine.
Especially in the current economic climate and all the strike talk in the industry.
One media insider was saying on a pod’ the other day one of the main problems with the streaming platforms is that to attract customers the initial rates are way too artificially low, but over time with all the price increases you piss off your loyal day ones in the process. People that want to stick with your service, but who get pulled elsewhere with better promo offers on competitors’ services. Or who get fed up and just dload everything, lol.
My 1st streaming platform pick to fall is between Peacock or Paramount+. As much content as I consume, all I've used Peacock for so far is Diamond League track meets outside of Olympic time. I dont think i've watched any Paramount+ content yet
This week, Julia Alexander joins to discuss the ongoing troubles in the entertainment industry, including the strikes, the box office recession, and more

I’m trying to keep 2-3 at a time and cycle through them based on what I’m watching.
I have paid for so many months of Netflix without watching it at all but that shit ended when the price went up. Now I approach that shit like a military adventure— get in with a clear objective, accomplish the mission, gtfo.
I'm looking to check out I'm a Virgo in August. Currently watching Average Joe, The Righteous Gemstones, Full Circle & Joe Pickett. They'll finish in August, and just waiting on shows like Heels, Dark Winds, Reservation Dogs & Only Murders in the Building which are returning in the weeks ahead. Probably going to get those ones started ... and then add I'm a Virgo to the mix.
‘MasterChef Australia’ has long touted itself as the "hardest cooking competition in the world," and with good reason. But its difficulty level isn’t the only thing that’s made it popular, with both fans and competitors alike.
I wasn't expecting this episode to be so surprisingly involving and moving as more facts and details about the terrorist come to light. A lot of great raw emotion was on display.
Full Circle on Max
Very involving series with multiple story threads that are connected to form a thrilling and highly watchable story about a kidnapping and much more. Even though one thread may or may not go down a predictable path it is still fun watching all of the pieces fall into place as a great ensemble of actors and Director Steven Soderbergh keep things moving.
Star Trek Strange New Worlds Lost In Translation
One of the main thing i love about all of these different versions or multi verses of popular shows or movies is how things play out between various characters but usually end up with the same outcome . The scenes between Kirk and Uhura were great.
Justified Primeval
Putting Keith David and Timothy Olyphant in scnes together was a great idea. It's great to see Raylan in action again
So many great actors and one liners

Planning on probably checking out Hijack in August as well. Definitely have it added to "The List" of shows.
All caught up with the current season of The Righteous Gemstones. Not as strong a season as the last one, in my opinion. A number of characters have been underutilized (is that 1 word or 2?)
Need to get caught up on a few episodes of Average Joe.
Have 2 episodes left with Joe Pickett - season 1. Pretty good overall. It feels small budget at times, but we've been liking it. Episodes 7 & 8 were two of the better ones of the season. Looking forward to watching 9 & 10 either tomorrow or Sat'. Gonna get started on the currently running 2nd season at the end of the month.
We traveled to the vampires’ dilapidated Staten Island mansion—which is in Canada—to discover what it is about this series that is so ludicrously and battily (get it?) hilarious.
Reasonable Doubt on HULU
Emayatzy Corinealdi, is very sexy ,loved her and her nude scenes in Hand Of God. Love that her character is so horny and kinky in this show.
Started Hijack on Friday evening and checked out the pilot episode. Definitely enjoyed it and will get caught up in the weeks ahead.
We also finished season 1 of Joe Pickett and got started on ep 1 of season 2. Good show ... if you like Yellowstone, you'll probably dig this one too. It's like a smaller scale, smaller budget version without some of the soap opera elements of Yellowstone. Favorite elements of the show =
- Believable chemistry between Joe Pickett and his wife, Marybeth
- Interesting role choice for David Alan Grier as Vern Dunnegan
- Liked the character arc for Wacey Hedeman
- Enjoyed watching the bond between Pickett and his daughter, Sheridan
- The 1st emu scene was quite funny ... played it back to have a 2nd laugh
- The actors who played Ote Keeley's wife and daughter. The woman played the role well as someone who was in a rough place in her life. And the daughter ... although she had limited dialogue, her non-verbal acting was pretty good for a young person. Watching her you believed her mood / emotion. She acted naturally in that role
- The flashbacks were quite effective too ... especially between Pickett and his younger brother, Victor
It's hard to know what to watch. That's why we're breaking down the streaming wars and recommending the best shows on streaming TV, from Netflix to Hulu to Disney+.
A new documentary on Steph Curry debuts this week, underlining just how much the sports documentary landscape has changed since the iconic Michael Jordan series dropped
