Top rap sales for the week damn the rap game is dying

I know for a fact gucci and plies was gettin 40k+ a show in their prime. The thing is tho the clubs really only make money off the drinks, they'll charge $30-50 just to get in an that'll cover the costs for the artist. I done seen a pastor troy show get sold out for $30 entry fee:eek:

Somebody cant do math, last I checked $30 x 1000 = $30,000. Most clubs dont hold 1000 people, so for Gucci to make $40K, they need at 1500 people in this mythical club. I dont see the club only making $5K in profit, so for them to make money, they have to pull in 2K people giving them $60K, paying him 40K and banking $20K + bar. Them niggas not caking like that. I call bullshit.

Impressive T.I. still managed to go Gold even though he has been locked up this whole time and couldnt push any singles

He has came a long way from not going Gold with actual good albums

I know for a fact Shawty Lo got 12 stacks when he came to Dallas earlier this year

Your math is wrong homie cause its not that simple. Most acts have a set fee. Gucci did a show a Bar Rio in Houston a couple years back, he charged the promoter $40k just to get him there. I know this for a fact cause I know the promoter...she hustled her ass to pull it off. They sold tickets $40 presale. Rio is one of the bigger clubs inside the beltway & it was packed. On top of his fee, most cats make the promoter pay for travel arrangements & the such.

At the bottom of this list rounding out the top 100 are two groups I listened to a long time ago and are now adults. RUNDMC and Salt-N-Pepa. They both have albums out recently, yet I have not heard ONE WORD about these albums. Not on TV, radio, word of mouth, a blog, a FB page, a website or anything. This is the first I am hearing of them doing anything. Probably because Hip Hop isn't made for adults it's made for children. Never heard of 95% of the rest these cats. And the ones I have heard of, I do not care for at all and would never support

30 ain't shit fam

30 is what addrianas cost after 1. and the club let out at 4.

$10 for your bottle:confused::confused::confused: The Factory don't have a liquor license.

Fuck sales, hip hop music is about a feeling/vibe to me. Hip hop is NOT dead, its just not a money making venture as it once used to be. As for the music, there is still great music out there. A few nice albums this year so far in my opinion.....

Technology has changed and a lot of the casual White fans have moved on to other genres. These look like pre 90s boom sales.

S.O.U.L. and ICON are not "new" albums, they are just repackaged compilations.

Run-D.M.C. released three classic albums and both Together Forever: Greatest Hits 1983-1991 (1991) and Ultimate Run-D.M.C. (2003) are five-star compilations. Therefore, this volume of Sony's S.O.U.L. -- a budget-line series of ten-track discs -- is more like a sampler than a proper anthology. Each track is deserving of placement on a Run-D.M.C. best-of, but the disc does not represent the absolute best, not when "It's Like That," "Beats to the Rhyme," "King of Rock," and "You Be Illin'" are not included. Oddly (or conveniently), the disc closes with the four Krush-Groove tracks ("Sucker M.C.'s," "Hollis Crew," "Darryl and Joe," and "Together Forever") in order. ~ Andy Kellman

This volume in Universal's Icon series is exactly the same Salt-N-Pepa compilation as 20th Century Masters - The Millennium Collection from 2008, with an extra single tacked on the end, 1991's "Backyard," with Pebbles. ~ Jason Lymangrover
