Congrats on your discipline.

Around that same time, I was eating once a day often, two meals max most days.

I got away from that two years ago because of other lifestyle changes, more demanding work and a more demanding schedule.

Because I'm going to go see family for the holidays, I don't see that happening in November or December for me but in 2020 I'm going to try to incorporate intermittent fasting into my regular lifestyle again.

Only fish & turkey for me, I occasionally cheat with chicken if I'm at a restaurant that doesn't have any fish or turkey options.

I been doing romaine salads lately, no dressing, broiled & seasoned Salmon on top if I feel like it. Always with diced Roma tomatoes, sometimes add avocados, sometimes black beans.

Today I had a Punany kale wrap from Tassili's Raw Reality on Abernathy here in Atlanta.

Spinach wrap kissed with soy mayo, your choice of TRR kale salad, avocado, tomato, plus sweet coconut corn and Karamu couscous.

Feel you on the turkey. I use Turkey for a lot. It's way cheaper than bison and low in calories. I don't have to eat nearly as much since I use pea protein and bcaa. Fresh spinach and tomatoes in a salad

I do enjoy using boneless skinless chicken breasts to make stiry fry with brown rice.

I been following that air fryer thread and finally got one. That thing is great for some flavorful alternatives to frying.

Man, I don't eat red meat, no scavengers (crustaceans/shellfish, catfish), no bread, no dairy... fuck all that shit. I don't take any supplements, no protein powder, etc. either.

And I rarely fuck with chicken.

I also stopped eating after 8pm (although insist had a salad tonight after 8pm). Just drink 32oz of water whenever you think you're hungry and you'll be surprised how your hunger will go away.

My fryer comes in from Amazon tomorrow, I got the Char-Broil Big Easy
Char-Broil Big Easy Oil-less Liquid Propane Turkey Fryer
Amazon product ASIN B071VT9RRR
I'ma use it to fry whole Snapper, veggies,
and for Thanksgiving turkey.

2020 is here.

Kale salads are usually my go to but that's getting old and I'm experimenting.

I was away from home on Thursday night and grilled some tilapia on the stove for Friday lunch, lightly sprinkling it with seasoning salt and basil before refrigerating it. It blew my mind how good it was. I can see myself eating tilapia and salmon lunches three days a week easily now.

I kept doing that through mid-December and then fell the fuck off.

About to go shopping and buy some fish, though-- Goal is to drop 20 pounds by the end of the year.

How did it go closing out 2020 and into the first quarter of 2021?

So that was August. I did a good job of controlling my diet for the rest of the year and started exercising in October through the end of the year.

I stopped exercising in early February but continued eating healthy. This is where the surprise comes in. From October through December, I was intensely exercising but my weight would not budge. I was losing fat but not weight in a way that surprised me. From December to February, I finally lost ten pounds before I stopped exercising.

Last week, I weighed myself for the first time in about 5 weeks, expecting to be about the same weight based on my pinching of my midsection and lack of exercise. I was shocked to see I was down 12 pounds from January. My body fat seemed to be the same so I didn't trust my digital scale but I got the same results once I tried another. I think the major difference was that I used creatine when I was exercising, so I probably lost a lot of water weight. I've definitely lost some muscle.

Eating healthy has been the easiest part, that and intermittent fasting are basically second nature at this point. I probably do both about five days a week-- I haven't even really been tracking. Hit my weight goal sometime in the last month without even knowing it but probably looked a little bit better at the slightly higher weight with more muscle. So it is all about exercise and getting back in that groove for me right now.

All I eat is chicken breasts and brocolli
Does "all" really mean "all"?

And how long have you been doing that? I stuck to a no variety diet for about a year but that doesn't seem like a realistic or smart lifetime practice. (There are a lot of good nutrients not in either of those! Broccoli seems quite overrated based on the CDC research I posted.)

My new favorite snack this year has been raw broccoli with peanut butter. So easy and actually very good, though I must emphasize I am eating them in roughly equal rations.

Congrats. Thanks for the update since last summer.

Thanks. It was a helpful time for you to bump this thread because I have to be away from home for a while, so it will be good for me to peruse as I adjust to a new environment.

You're welcome. Yeah - it's been one of those years wherein everyone's had to modify their routines & schedules. Along with that comes changes to peoples' diets and exercise schedules, etc. It's an interesting contrast too with meals. With more people working remotely ... there's less dining out around the job or on the go. Sit-down restaurant meals and such.

On the flip side ... there's also increases to people cooking & snacking at home, but also ordering delivery.

Like they always say ... it's all about moderation. Balance everything out. Up the water & vegetable intake. Decrease the sugar and sodium. Take in way more good food(s) than junk items.

About to get on my intermittent fasting shit again... Been eating salads at work for a few weeks, about to start mixing that up with sardines and tuna this week.

Currently trying to figure out the best crackers to bring... I have some wheat thins but it looks like the much better tasting Ritz crackers are absolutely just as good nutritionally so that's about to be my purchase for next week...

My staple salads require chopping tomato, avocado and onion at least, often with boiled eggs as well. I'll probably still have some salad weeks (gotta do it for a whole week at least not to waste the big ass bags of kale I buy) but I love how simple the fish prep was while being more tasty.

These days I'm eating spinach salads... I work from an office four days a week so I brought in two cucumbers, two tomatoes and 12 boiled eggs along with the spinach for the week the past couple of Mondays, keeping it simple.

Smart. Good planning ahead and bringing enough stuff with you.
