What were the 80's in AmeriKKKa..?

Ronald Reagan
Voter Suppression
Reagan cuts funding to school lunch programs and causes prices to rise
Rolling back of civil rights and black progress
Weakening of Unions
Black communities flooded with drugs by the government
Crack
Mass Incarceration
The Birth of Trickle Down Economics (Reaganomics)
Black unemployment over 19%
36% Black Poverty levels
Riots in the Streets
Recession.....
Police killing black folks almost daily
Allowing Harlem to fall apart so they could move black folks out and white developers in. ( The start of Harlem gentrification)

Everything you fear of Trump some of us have lived through.

The 80s caused people to become active both politically and in their communities. This will be no different.

We also had Public Enemy speaking out on racism and white supremacy. teaching many historical facts and figures they didn't know. To some the reason the corporations took over rap and started releasing the money hoes drugs shit we have heard ever since was to shut them up.

The big difference between then and now is that there was still entry level and blue collared jobs available, so while in the 80's their goal was to lower the wadges of the working class, today their mission is to totally get rid of many of those jobs..
A much better and accurate comparison would be to compare NYC in the mid 90's to whats going on now..

Another difference between then and now is, people are easily distracted. We as a society have all the tools we need to keep ourselves informed, but we dumb ourselves down with internet, Netflix, reality TV, Instagram, Facebook, etc...

People should be more informed, and for the most part we are, but we are also a society that has a short attention span.

Guess you didn't notice black unemployment was over 19%...

And why would the comparison be between nationally and 1 city ?

Trump ain't mayor....

President Reagan also tried to send troops to South Africa to help keep Botha in power killing blacks in their own country. Reagan was also the president during the so called star wars and they secretly built a space station in outer space. It is strange that right now a multi millionaire can take a vacation in outer space. Some have done it already but the news has never interviewed any of them when they came back.

Because they are going to use that blue print and try to make it work across the nation, this is why Trump is aligning himself with people like Giuliani... I know it sounds bat shit crazy but look who we are talking about..

Yep. People don't realize the type of extremists that are in there. There is a spectrum of racism.. there is a spectrum to politics on the right. There is spectrum to extremism.

They just don't have anti-gay people in there. Muthafuckas like Pence believe in shock conversion therapy. That you can literally electrocute the gayness out of people

Guiliani believes in nationwide stop and frisk and it on record saying "blacks need to be controlled by whites".

Pence was making women that got abortion have funerals with the remains. They have an EPA lead that thinks climate change is a hoax.

No use debating Ballscout. He has been an undercover Republican all along.

He loves this endless loop of republican rule.

There were more black ppl from intact families then.....

Forget the 80s.....the George W Bush administration didn t wake up the ppl.....neither will Trump

Watcher you should listen to some opposing points of view.....during the campaign you dismissed a lot of folks simply cause they were saying some things........that turned out to be true....

Such as "she wasn t a good candidate." It wasn t support of Trump...it was a fact that played out......period

I voted for Bernie so I know she wasn't the best candidate. My point was shut the fuck up with the constant trashing of democrats before it helps elect trump. That's what turned to out to be true.

Most of the rhetoric on here about the democrats was republican lies.

Trump won cause he said Make Amerikkka White Again......and white Amerikkka ran to the polls in full force.

I've said the exact same thing over and over.

But Democrats could have won if people didn't cut off their nose to spite the face. Hillary had 2 million more votes....

"Cutting off the nose to spite the face" is an expression used to describe a needlessly self-destructive over-reaction to a problem: "Don't cut off your nose to spite your face" is a warning against acting out of pique, or against pursuing revenge in a way that would damage oneself more than the object of one's anger.

I work for an engineering firm. I've spent years working as an E&I, Electrical and Instrumentation Tech. The movie "The Terminator"
was about the middle class losing jobs to automation. I've been working with and reparing PLCs and Distributive Controls systems.
These processes automatically open valves, start motors, start pumps, move robotic arms to the correct position.
Gone are the days of paying unskilled workers for repetitive type of jobs.
Every industry has been moving at an exponential pace.
If you don't have an skilled trade or diploma, you are in serious trouble!
This is the biggest drain on the economy but no one will speak about.
Why do you think so much work has gone into self-driving cars.
Taxis, shipping, trucking is next. ..
