Those Acting Terrified of Trump...Remember the 80s..No Then Research Them

I'm saying it ain't the end of us . I'm saying the crakkas can't beat us no matter what they try.

I'm saying that we should be able to deal with something that has been thrown at us before

I was saying as a people we should be smarter but some people in here trying to minimize Reagan as governor and president because they want to be so fukkn scared.

unbelievable.

Yea but fuck going backwards.

No use debating Ballscout. He has been an undercover Republican all along.

He loves this endless loop of republican rule.

I voted for Bernie so I know she wasn't the best candidate. My point was shut the fuck up with the constant trashing of democrats before it helps elect trump. That's what turned to out to be true.

Most of the rhetoric on here about the democrats was republican lies.

Dumb ass weak logic..

Your wife cheating but don't say nothing cause she only sucking dicks she ain't giving up no pussy so it could be worse.

How about you wait and see if the mofokr even gets into office before you panic and jump off the cliff

And there was nothing sweet about it from his time as governor and his two terms.

A Reagan presidency would be a best case scenario ?

A choir boy ?

Best case scenario ?

yeah okay...

Yeah because this clown ass that's president elect now will be worse... And Reagan wasn't shit

But this is new territory with a GOP controlled gov and if Dems fall to 25% of the seats held the GOP can make constitutional amendments

Keep thinking shit a game

The folk Trump got around him for his transition team compared to Reagen makes Reagen look like a choir boy

Yep. People don't realize the type of extremists that are in there. There is a spectrum of racism.. there is a spectrum to politics on the right. There is spectrum to extremism.

They just don't have anti-gay people in there. Muthafuckas like Pence believe in shock conversion therapy. That you can literally electrocute the gayness out of people

Guiliani believes in nationwide stop and frisk and it on record saying "blacks need to be controlled by whites".

Pence was making women that got abortion have funerals with the remains. They have an EPA lead that thinks climate change is a hoax.

Trump is the equivalent of a supervillain becoming president. A Reagan-like presidency would be a best case scenario. :smh:

80's???? Trump and company are trying take us back to th 60's

The folks minimizing how astonishingly bad this administration is going to be be are on some ostrich-like, head in the sand type shit. It's gonna be a disaster. Let's hope that they don't do too much damage.

Could be worse . Reagan is documented.

Trump is assumed.. The question is will we sit still and give Trump the space Reagan was given ?

If Dems fall to 25 % is right but they been doing the same bullshit and losing ground and yet we still marching lock-step.

The dems that haven't done shit , the Dems that will be jumping to the GOP with their white brethren if it gets to that point.

Can't be a game if we ain't playing..maybe it's a spectator sport

I've said the exact same thing over and over.

But Democrats could have won if people didn't cut off their nose to spite the face. Hillary had 2 million more votes....

"Cutting off the nose to spite the face" is an expression used to describe a needlessly self-destructive over-reaction to a problem: "Don't cut off your nose to spite your face" is a warning against acting out of pique, or against pursuing revenge in a way that would damage oneself more than the object of one's anger.

I agree...but part of the process of getting to the point of holding your nose and pulling the lever is pointing out legitimate points about the flaws of the person you are voting for....I couldn t stand the fact that I had to vote for Hillary Clinton........twice (once in primary an then the general) but for me to be okay with that I needed to know that she wasn t good...she was just the lesser of two evils.....and people shouldn t be called bashing her (or put on some list) simply for stating facts.

Ballscout is for the endless loop of Republican rule. Where have we seen this before.

Remember this when debating Ballscout. BALLSCOUT IS WHITE

Who Benefits From Donald Trump's Tax Plan?

"Just before the election, after the last debate, 51 percent of them intending to vote for Trump supported increasing taxes on high-earning individuals," says Michael Pollardof RAND.

But Trump's plan does the opposite, says Lily Batchelder, a law professor at NYU and visiting fellow at the Tax Policy Center.

"If you look at the most wealthy, the top 1 percent would get about half the benefits of his tax cut, and a millionaire would get an average tax cut of $317,000," she says.

$40,000 and $50,000 a year would get a tax cut of only $560, she says, and millions of middle-class working families will see their tax bills rise under Trump's plan — especially single

"A single parent who's earning $75,000 dollars and has two school-age children, they would face a tax increase of over $2,400," Batchelder says. That's if they had no child-care deductions; the increase in taxes comes partly because the Trump plan eliminates the $4,000 exemption for each person in the household

I work for an engineering firm. I've spent years working as an E&I, Electrical and Instrumentation Tech. The movie "The Terminator"
was about the middle class losing jobs to automation. I've been working with and reparing PLCs and Distributive Controls systems.
These processes automatically open valves, start motors, start pumps, move robotic arms to the correct position.
Gone are the days of paying unskilled workers for repetitive type of jobs.
Every industry has been moving at an exponential pace.
If you don't have an skilled trade or diploma, you are in serious trouble!
This is the biggest drain on the economy but no one will speak about.
Why do you think so much work has gone into self-driving cars.
Taxis, shipping, trucking is next. ..

You know this is one of the things that really drove me crazy about Trump's silly pandering to the know nothings who think those jobs can come back. Shit was basically an "everyone gets applesauce!" campaign. Let's say we can somehow roll the clock back on globalization and bring unskilled manufacturing jobs back (without destroying the tightly knit, complex and integrated world economy). Automation is rendering these jobs obsolete anyways, so it's like... now what you dumb fucks? :dunno:

I never bashed the people pointing out her failings. It's the people not voting or voting for Trump I bashed and put on the list.

but we are also a society that has a short attention span.

Short attention span, or lack of compassion? Or both...

Ive stated this before, but a lot of people just dont give a fuck until it happens to them. Theyll join a protest, if its "cool" and trending on Twitter, but no one seems to go all in until it hits close to home. Back in the days a lot of people were forced to straighten up, but today we have all type of bs escape routes that make people feel like theyre exempt.

"Youre struggling, not me!"
Thats the mentality.

We have too many people living in comfort zones. Maybe we need a person like Trump to wake people up.

All I am saying man is just be open to opposing points of views....a lot of the stuff that was said against her played out on election day.

I feel you but if it makes us move to get forward then so be it..

because we been standing still

Lol you pick the wrong time period to compare. The 80s were fucked, the only plus was lower gas prices. My quality of life has been progressing each year. Dude fuck the 80s. And being stagnant is better that getting worst.

Ballscout thinks the country was standing still because he is white and there was a Black president.

Same republican rhetoric we have been hearing for 8 years.

Watch, no matter how bad thins get Ballscout will never acknowledge it because Trump made America white again.

Are you really that stupid ?

Really ?

I wasn't talking about the country you patriotic bitch.

I am talking about the black community.

So what exactly does a black president have to do with anything.

And your dumb ass talking about making the country white again like it stopped being white in the first place..

How bad things get ? you think they are good now ? You think they been good ?..

I had to almost cuss a white guy out for trying to spit the argument. Talking bout "y'all remember there was a time in America when life was great and everyone got along?" yo he saw the team coming from my ears, I was like "really life was great for who?"

I can tell neither of you was even born when Reagan was President by the bullshit you typed.

But y'all also part of that crowd that thinks black folks have it harder today than during slavery...

I got it :smh::smh::smh:

I respect the fact that you're the elder statesman of the board, but knock it off with the idea that anyone who disagrees with you must be a 20 year old. I know you have kids and I believe grandkids. Can you honestly tell me their futures didn't become a lot more uncertain after November 8th? Yes, Black people as a whole will survive the next four years, but some won't. Don't we want more as a people than just surviving?

I don't always reply, but I read a lot of your posts. Sometimes I think you're too critical of Obama, but there are other times when you're spot on. In the past, you've posted articles about his expansion of executive power, the NSA spying on US citizens, giving the Bush administration and Wall Street a pass, drone strikes, etc. Say what you will, Obama is a decent, smart and thoughtful man who didn't live up to some of the huge expectations placed on his shoulders (and a few of the more reasonable ones). Trump is the exact opposite, but with the same expanded power and an inner circle of lunatics. His presidency won't be the worse thing to ever happen to Black people, only a fool would think in that extreme, but you'd also be foolish by not showing any concern.

I get the overall point Brother Ballscout but remember that a lot of the pain from the Reagan years still affects folks to this day...there would be no President Trump if there wasn't a President Reagan first...you are right, people don't need to go hide in a corner and tremble but let's not make light of what this dude can do if he goes in a certain direction...as a people, we will overcome Trump but as individuals, some of us wont

Gotta always make sure to add that this doesn't mean we are currently living in paradise under a Black president...the system is what it is

I'll answer your first question ..

The only uncertainty I currently have is what will Trump actually try and do.

At this point nobody knows anything except the bullshit both he and the media has flooded the internet with. Some of it true and some of it just sensational.

I understand being concerned with what Trump might do....The point is what will we do in regards to any of it ?

What have we learned from going through it before.

Anything ?

So far we have spent 4 days on this board being hysterical but how many threads have there been promoting a strategy ?

You still have Watcher wearing the same panties from Tuesday posting more hysteria and pretending life as we know it is over because we spurned our only savior.

This is on us. We have to save us

Sure some won't make it but we also have to rid ourselves of the mentality that my life is fine or I'm safe so fuck the rest.

That mentality has us as a community exactly at the place we currently sit.

Many of us are materially okay but morally bankrupt when it comes to community.

So what are "we" going to do ?

It hasn't been a week yet. You have to give cats to time to process one of the biggest upsets in political history.

One last thing on Trump the man. I read a recent interview where he was asked if he went too far with the rhetoric, his reply? "No. I won." The type of individual who will say or do anything to get what they want, is not someone to be trusted or ever given the benefit of the doubt, said individual is a psychopath. I don't mean that in a Hollywood kind of way where he has dead hookers buried his basement. He lacks empathy. The only thing he cares about is himself. We're talking about a guy who was already rich and successful, but still had a need to call up the tabloids pretending to be his own publicist so he could boast about his greatness. What normal person does that? Psychopathy can be a great trait when it comes to running a business or self promotion, but running a country? Not so much.

As far as learning from the past, we go with the basics: Hold our elected officials accountable. Save your money and whenever possible, support Black businesses (in person or online).

Tracee Ellis Ross posted this list on Instagram a few days ago:

If you're financially fortunate, donate and/or give your time to the groups of your choice.

It's not a perfect or a complete plan, but it's a start.

Yea but fuck going backwards.
Thank you. I'm tired of strong endurance of the black people narrative. Yes we know we can endure and overcome. We have done it time and time again. We need to solidify our advances and increase it. Fuck that "don't vote" philosophy. We should be voting at 80% to control the process, from dog catcher to president. White folks should fear elections.

We'll see what happens because the old GOP had a lot of moderates in the party. Whereas today there are no moderates.
