Yeah real talk, I kinda feel like giving up at this IT shit.

Too old and these crackers talking about homelab and make projects and all this shit, I study all day and no luck.

Got a poor work history filled of shit jobs so I probably need to accept my fate at this point, these crackers keep changing the bar.

At least I can say I returned to school in mid 40s and finished but reality is bleek.

Time to stop complaining and just accept it.

CCNA did nada, don't even see much network engineer jobs that will hire entry level.

Time to get real, at bus drivers have decent health insurance.

CCNA, A, N, expired S, AWS cloud practioner, Linux essentials, ITIL 4

Not a damn offer after almost 10 months of looking just rejection emails.

I got a backround of security guard work and low level office jobs.

Need to be real and stop fighting, I had bouts with depression my whole life.

I study phython and sql in my spare time and learn powershell also but the experience is lacking.

Think I'm just gonna aim for 50k a year health and dental and call it a day.

If you're in the private sector, try for government IT jobs. It may not be as demanding. I would look federal, state and local, even the school system has IT positions.

Not this again.

I gave my high school friend the same info I gave you about State Farm jobs. He got hired, start date is Jan. 13.

All he had to do was have a degree and do an online interview.

You really shouldn't make these threads until you've applied at most of the companies I posted last time...it had to be at least 50.

What did he apply for? What position?

check ya pm

I'm guessing he had no experience, that's more customer service based... my resume is IT based I would need to get rid of alot of it and just make it plain.

It's 50-60k base and unlimited overtime.

He has a degree in Computer information Systems.

I told him TAKE THE JOB TO GET IN THE DOOR and post out later for IT positions.

Or stay in claims and move up. You can be promoted in 90 days.

Ain't a damn thing wrong with a city or state job. Check to see if the city or state has IT positions. Hey man have you ever considered getting into internet security work? If not, think about it.

Resume has to be the issue, I'm redoing it but I'm fall back on the IT stuff and just make it basic to get in the door at a company.

Techie folks get easily stuck thinkin how it should be done...infinite ways to win the tech game..think paradigm shift

keep at it dog, getting that experience is your main barrier, so just get on upwork, fiiver, start your own company and do some free trial stuff to get clients and experience or do pro-bono work to get your experience up by working with non profits, etc. Others in this thread had some good ideas as well but it's def so many ways to gain that experience.

Grass ain't always greener.

I enjoy my work, I'm able to pay my bills, invest in the market and real estate, help family and friends.

I could go somewhere else for more money but stability is more important to me. I'll make more money outside of work.

Passed the general knowledge for the CDL and going to take the air brakes and passenger next week I'm going for class b due to my sickle cell so being in Alaska in a truck is a serious risk.

I could die pretty easily in that weather especially with physical activity.

Fixed up the resume so still applying for IT gigs not getting depressed.

Gotta friend who told me to come to bama and look into working at a car factory. He trying to apply to work for Hyundai.

You didn't tell me to apply at Costco... I applied at Costco a few times already
Unfortunately, Costco won’t hire inexperienced truck drivers. You’ll need at least three years of over-the-road experience before they’d even consider hiring you. While WAL-MART offers better pay, you’ll have a hard time getting in with them. You could try ABF, which is a union company. Depending on your location, they might be easier to get employed by.

Good luck and keeping you in my prayers.

I'm talking class B not c

Bus drivers have to deal with a lot of shit--e.g., bad passengers, breakdowns and angry passengers, etc. Good luck, though, whatever route you choose.

I know a cpl people in IT who are working remotely and going to office once every few months.

IT guy in my dept. calls customer support w any issues.Lol

Remote means you can be some distance away if in office is not v. often

Unfortunately I’m in a hospital but otherwise I’d be looking for a remote gig….theyre still out there.

Trucking has died down a lot since the post COVID search, but you can still hustle some dough there.

There’s a dude w a yt channel that trucks w his wife….if I find it I’ll post…it’s pretty informative.

Good luck and keep us informed

Carry on…..
