The Zimmerman Trial: Justice for Trayvon! (Let's discuss it)

It's not funny it could sway the jury!! It makes trayvon the aggressor

Nothing about this young man's death is funny.

I'm laughed at the description of this "walking up to gz and punching him" . . . It immediately made me think of some goofy ass "Grand Theft Auto" type ridiculousness.

It MAY conjure the same ridiculousness to the jury, as it did to me. In effect hurting the defense. I don't presume that the jury is gonna "fall for the banana in the tail pipe" non-sense.

the justice for Trayvon had a chance, but the prosecution team was/is weak.

the jury will have an easy deliberation with this one.

from Max's Samsung G-Note

I was Googling more about the self defense claims, it seems that even if Zimmerman were the aggressor he can still claim self defense. I didn't know that. You can't initiate and/or escalate a situation while strapped in Ohio and claim self defense. He'd be under the jail here.

Now I see why the prosecutors presented shit the way they did. The self defense laws in Florida are crazy.

I wasn't saying you thought TM getting shot was funny it more towards the animation film and how the defense can use it to sway jury. My bad if it came off that way.

The law is crazy. I pick a fight with you, you start beating me up with good punches, throw me to the ground and then I reach in my belt, pull out a pistol and shoot you. How am I justified? Its crazy. By this law i could easily set someone up just to kill him

That's why this scary if he gets off. So imagine following a women (remember following is not crime) the lady tries to defend herself you can kill her and claim self defense. This case puzzles me how can you overlook the events leading up to the shooting. It's as tho GZ was just randomly attacked.

It's crazy for a reason.

Closing seems to have been better than I predicted it would be. I do wish he would have referred to Trayvon as a "kid" more often though.

Nobody has ever denied that they fought.....and they have tried to overstate his injuries...Dude had two fuckin scratches on his head......and a bloody nose that they tesitifed wasn't even swollen 4 hours after the photo was taken.

So Lisa Bloom is trying to do what they defense has done and that is to draw attention on some side shit.

Remember Trayvon was the one in fear and had a right to defend himself.

Even Zimmerman said that when he reached for his phone Trayvon punched him..

Was it his phone or his gun ?

Trayvon was fighting for his life

Tell Lisa to explain how George git his gun out if Trayvon was straddling his chest

I agree 100%

It's seems to be some twisted shit going on down there. It's as if they have laws that ensure a fight to the death with the winner taking all.

If I start with you, you can kill me(Stand Your Ground). If I start with you and you get out on me, I can kill you(regular self defense). Florida is fucking Klingon country.

That particular analyst on wftv, while I won't call him pro-defense (he doesn't automatically spin everything for them like some of the talking heads on hln) he does tend to favor their arguments more in terms of what he sees as successful. He seems fair minded (he's not riding for zimmerman personally), but definitely takes a defense slant.

He is most known for his work as a defense attorney, but like most of the ones you see on tv, he started out as a prosecutor:

funny how all the experts are in news rooms and not court rooms .

also was the expert a defense lawyer or a prosecutor ?

because it seems to me he is trying to anticipate what the defense will say and he is answering and bringing up all the questions that the trial would have caused them to ask

The reason why it's great for the prosecution is because they get to bring everyone back to the original point, and that's a kid was killed for no reason while walking home. The defenses job is to take the jury on a long and sometimes unnecessary story and hope they can create reasonable doubt, they did in some peoples eyes but the truth in this case is stronger than the doubt imo.

It shouldn't take this much work to convince 6 women that shooting a boy is wrong. I really hope they lock this dude up for a long time

Bro that's the problem. White people don't consider him getting out of his car, following the start of anything. They don't care that he never identified himself. THEY ONLY WANT TO CONSIDER THAT TRAYVON HIT HIM THE START OF SOMETHING.

Every cracker I've argued with over the past few weeks believe that negros are dangerous so we have no rights and we have to answer to anyone who thinks they are an authority.

If I start following white people around and they call the cops guess what? I'm about to get arrested for harassment.

THIS CASE IS TELLING US ONE THING AND ONE THING ONLY, BLACKS ARE NOT HUMANS AND DON'T HAVE RIGHTS!!!

Um......everything that he said......

Yeah, I had to explain it this way to my friends (old, white) father. I said, let's take Trayvon out of the equation and put Seth (his 16/17 year old grandson) into the equation. Imagine if you looked out your window and saw Seth walking down the block, and then you saw a car slowly trailing him, and when Seth turned a corner, the guy stopped the car and got out and followed him out of your sight. Would you feel good about that, or would alarms be going off in your head? Would you step away from the window and go back to watching Bill O'reilly or would you go out there thinking that your grandson might be in danger?

Of course he sat there looking stupid for a minute, but then tried to completely go off on some tangent to avoid what I just asked him :smh:. I gave up.

I have a feeling he's going to o free.

The way I see it:

*He followed Trayvon. Not illegal.

Should he have done it after the dispatcher said don't follow? Probably not, but again, NOT ILLEGAL.

*Assuming this part is true, Trayvon asked him if he had a problem, to which he replied "no," and Trayvon said "well you got one now."

*If an individual was pounding my head into the pavement over and over, it's really hard to answer whether the use of deadly force is justified. I mean, if I'm getting my mouth covered up, and head pounded, I would assume that I would assume that I was in imminent danger, and could die or suffer great bodily harm. Everything I just said warrants the use of the gun.

With all that said, Zimmerman profiled him and ultimately "started it." Hard to say how this will go.

yeah, and for 80% of the trial I would agree with him. Today though I didn't agree with his criticism of the closing arguments. I think Bernie did at least an effective job. The jury doesn't care whether he's proving their case or poking holes in the defense's case. He's thinking purely from his lawyer's brain. I still don't think it looks good for state, but dude did decently today for once.

He is the expert I have been watching and he believes the prosecution is doing terrible.

fl preppin for action following the verdict.

I was skeptical after 6 woman were chosen for the jury. let alone that 6 people jury shit.

man, this shit gonna be crazy whateva the verdict

Well, with the prosecution closing and the jurors going away overnight, they get to marinate on what was said and the inconsistencies in Zimmerman's story. Tomorrow the defense will step in and then the state will have it's rebuttal, but at least any leeway the state DID make today will not get immediately clouded with a counter argument from the defense.

Unfortunately the only other person who can tell the other side of the story was killed by fatboy himself. So the party with the most to lose can freely say that the kid that he profiled, pursued in his vehicle, and then on foot... the person he himself said was running from him... that person then came up and punched him in the face unprovoked. Of course he didn't try to grab the kid after putting in all that effort to track him down... of course not. ...because then he himself would have started the altercation.

Yeah, I also think he will walk, but only because white people don't want to see that the more likely scenario doesn't match up with his story, and the only person alive who can really say something opposing him was only on the phone.

I have a feeling he's going to o free.

Watching clips of prosecutor's closing-- Why does he mention Zimmerman calling TM a "fucking punk" and an "asshole." Why does he not mention he calling him a coon? Was that ruled inadmissible?

Thats true......they even said that both had the right to self defense but after Trayvon started to win the fight then he loses his right and George gets it.

I have watched most of this trial and what is clear to me is

Zimmerman stalked Trayvon never identifying himself.

That and Jantelle saying he might be a rapist or something made Trayvon afraid.

He tried to get away and thought he was safe....

Zimmerman didn't follow from behind he cut Trayvon off and they came face to face

Trayvon asked him what his problem was and why he was following him

Zimmerman still didn't identify himself and instead pulled his gun.

Seeing this Trayvon who couldn't run now threw a punch hitting Zimmerman in the nose and knocking Zimmerman backwards where hit hit his head causes those two scratches.

Everybody knows that even small scratches on your head bleeds and looks worse than the injury is.

Trayvon pounced on Zimmerman to try and hold him because he still had the gun in his hand.

Trayvon is screaming and fighting for his life from this unknown could be rapist with a gun.

Zimmerman is able to get his pistol pointed and fires.

His relationship with the police dude to his constant calling and neighborhood watch activities cause them to believe him and not treat him as a suspect but as an associate.

He uses his legal training and police procedure knowledge to concoct a story to make it stand your ground which he was taught in class.

His father the magistrate and his police pals help him.

Once he hires a lawyer they know that since he was the one in pursuit that Stand your ground won't work

So they start doing subtle changes to his story to use the self defense angle.

Thats why on Hannity he said he got out of his car to follow Trayvon and keep him in sight so he can tell the police where he went

But that changed to I wasn't following him I thought he was already gone and I was looking for a street sign..

This is to make him now not the aggressor but the victim and that he was following Trayvon,Trayvon came back to him and attacked.

There are only three streets is that sub division. Zimmerman has lived there for 4 years. He patrols as a neighborhood watch cat.

Do you really believe he had to go find a street sign to tell police where he was ?

i think he will get manslaughter. whtwomen arent as racists as theirmalecounterparts and being a mother will have sympathy.hes getiing 10 outin7

Females love to win arguments. Especially arguments with lies. Them white females don't want to fuck George. They don't want to have him over for dinner.

Some folks are blind.

George Zimmerman is only white in his own mind. (And some members of BGOL)

White folks don't see him as white.
White folks ain't going to want GZ as a neighbor.

He was dropped from his job, the local college and from the HOA as soon as this shooting popped off.

He got white folks fired from their jobs.
He got white businesses claiming a lost of income.

They know dude is a menace and a troublemaker. White folks have seen his mama and uncle and sister. They know dude ain't white.

Ain't nam Hispanic organization thrown an ounce of support his way.

Ain't nam Black organization thrown an ounce of support his way.

What white organization has shown GZ support? NRA, Tea Party, Arayan Brotherhood, KKK?

This dude is on a lonely ass island.

I don't know what's in the minds of the jurors but I see 25 years of confinement for GZ.

This George Michael can use White Privilege.

This George Michael (Zimmerman) is going to a place where there is a lot of dudes that look like him.

With all that said, Zimmerman profiled him and ultimately "started it." Hard to say how this will go.

If a person was pounding your head into concrete over and over you would have had more than two superficial scratches.

Those scratches and the little swelling is more likely caused from him getting knocked down by the punch to his nose and hitting his head

Care to explain how he would have gotten his gun out is Zimmerman story was true....Inside the pants holster on his right rear hip and Martin was on his chest with his knees up under Armpits ?

Zimmerman said that Trayvon asked him if he had a problem and he said know and then reached for his cell phone.

More likely he pulled his gun....His gun would have had to have already been out if his story is true.

Also if Trayvon punched him in the nose and knocked him down and then mounted him as Zimmerman said and this started at the T in the sidewalks how did Trayvons body end up 40 feet further down the walk ?

But Zimmerman needs it to have started at the T so that he could have been going the other way and be attacked

Oh and following somebody isn't illegal and nobody said it was

But following somebody and not identifying yourself is grounds that a reasonable 17 year old would be in fear.

And the defense is trying to make it clear that you don't need actual danger just the belief that you are in danger

Under the “10-20-life” law, courts must impose a:

1. 10-year prison sentence on anyone convicted of committing or attempting to commit any of the above felonies (with certain exceptions), while armed with a firearm or destructive device;

2. 20-year prison term if the accused fired the firearm; and

3. 25-year to life term if the accused discharged the firearm and killed or seriously hurt someone.
