Not at the moment, but they played the tape of his statement they took from him that night at the police station.
I just went to hln to read the transcript and I am now fully convinced the the murder 2 charge is very appropriate and not an overcharge.
Zimmerman said that TM was wailing on him and pummeling him, yet he had no black eye but very minor lacerations.
He was also able to make long yells for help while TM had his hand on his mouth?
At no point did he mention that he tried to fight back. His first action was to conveniently get a gun and kill a child.

I just want him to be convicted of something... even manslaughter... something that gets him some significant time locked up. If he walks, that shit is gonna be like a kick in the gut.

it amazes me how polite and friendly they're being towards him so soon after he killed a kid. Pretty much told him he'd be going home and they'd meet up to do the walk through the next day

there's no way if trayvon had killed him under the exact same circumstances would they allow him to go home, allow him to do anything other than get right to jail.

Absolutely not.
This was something I pointed out when I initially heard the call after finding out he was head of neighborhood watch. How can you effectively man that position without even knowing basic shit like street names. Again, this can be used to paint him as a rogue vigilante and not a true neighborhood watch captain whose job it is to observe and report only.

Zimmerman's whole statement is a lie.
he proved that when he said that he just felt something wasn't right with Trayvon.
in the very beginning, every channel called him a "self appointed" neighborhood watchman.
then later on, they started describing it as a more official role sanctioned by the community.

In Florida, manslaughter is a lesser charge included with 2nd degree murder. The jury will also have to consider it
EDIT: I found that the Casey Anthony case was the exact same way.. here's the transcript from that case
and there were 100 eyewitnesses too.
And this case has two witnesses, and one of them is dead..
The other witness has a daddy that's involved in law enforcement who instructed his son on how to cover his ass almost seamlessly..
