WWE made bank last year. Product suck but if it's making them a billion every year there's no need to change anything from a creative standpoint. Read an article today explaining this situation and why the product look stale and repetitive.
Money is the main thing for WWE. This is why I'm watching AEW more.
Question here for everyone.
Who were y'all favorite wrestlers as a kid? Did anyone have an odd unusual wrestler they were fans of?
My faves were Hogan, Macho Man, Sting, Warrior.
My one odd fave was Barry Windham. That superplex and vaulting over for the pin was cool looking.
I forgot one. THE JUICERDid anyone have an odd unusual wrestler they were fans of?
....Odd Favorite......

Cody is out....or is it just a work?
Very reminiscent of when his dad went to the WWE after being the head booker of NWA for so many years.Who knows? I wouldn't understand it if he went back to WWE, it'd be kinda like breaking into a jail.
But then again, between Cody fake retiring, booking himself out of the AEW title picture, and adamantly being against turning heel, Cody seems to like being booked into a box.
Cody is out....or is it just a work?
I was just about to post. Being he has issues with The Elite I'm not surprised. I also don't see him going to WWE knowing Damn well how their system works. Between acting, hosting shows and once said he has political aspirations he was bound to leave. Didn't expect his to leave so soon.
Cody going back to WWE.
He's a generational wrestler and I think he milked AEW/TNT all he could and got tired or the indy style shit AEW was doing.
He will surprise folks showing up at WrestleMania.
He's going to be followed by Jericho and in a few years, MJF and others.
Nah, he's gone. It's been clear for a while that he never fit in with the rest of the EVPs and the fans shit on him and his wife constantly.I smell a work! Cody and Brandi aren't going anywhere.
Cody going back to WWE would be the dumbest thing ever.
The difference here is his deal already expired months ago while those guys got new deals while still under their deals. The only thing that makes sense to me is that this is a legit negotiation thing.
WWE wrestlers do it all the time, like they get on Twitter and tease going to AEW and then use that as leverage to get a better deal. Orton did it with his last deal, and KO just did it a few months ago with the Mount Everest thing.
I think Cody's doing the same thing and MJF will do the same when his contract is up.
The only difference is they just haven't reached an agreement yet. It's still possible they could all reach an agreement within the next few days or the next few weeks and then it's water under the bridge.
Until Cody actually signs with WWE, he's not there yet. It's been reported that he's been in contact with WWE, but he could very well turn down whatever offer WWE gives him, too, and go do some other shit.
But going to WWE should be his last resort, because they don't have shit to offer him but a check and a spot on the mid-card.
You really believe that don't you....Cody going back to WWE would be the dumbest thing ever.
You really believe that don't you....
Given the money (and visibility) he would earn, the leverage he has (now), the buzz his signing would create and how this would change the landscape of a stale wrestling promotion.....
Going back to WWE would be a VERY smart thing to do.
The difference here is his deal already expired months ago while those guys got new deals while still under their deals.
The time to use WWE as leverage for a better AEW deal has come and gone.
As an EVP you would think if TK really wanted him and Brandi around he would have extended their deals long before they ran out.
If you really want someone around, you don't let their deal expire. That tells me he's gone and not coming back anytime soon.
His dad ate humble pie after working for the competition (NWA) and went to the WWF back in the day.
I wouldn't be shocked if he did the same.
Sean Ross Sapp said it was a negotiation issue. Cody has been working without a contract for about a month. Sapp did a live stream when he broke the news and subs asked questions. Some takeaways from the few minutes I watched. The only thing that makes sense to me is that this is a legit negotiation thing.
