That's been a big issue with me with them having to do competing promos and skits off and on for a year. It's the same shit over and over and they're getting further and further away from "I'm going to kick your ass in Miami".
Cena calling out Rock was really Vince calling out Rock using Cena.
He is in Rock's shadow. Rock's, Austin's, HHH's, all those guys from the previous era. No different than how Bret was in Hogan and Savage's shadow. Much like Bret with Hogan and Warrior, he was elevated but never beat Austin or Rock to get there.
I know, right. WTF?
And it sucked to me.
Yep. Austin's done because his body can't do it anymore so there's nothing to pump up. Rock can still wrestle.
But people went to go see it..go figure.
Not to mention his other movies have done so well that people tend to forget about the flops.
It's not a matter of what degree it is, it's a matter of someones personal business. Cena really doesn't have anything on Rock so his shots don't last. Rock was clearly reading sheet music yet no one cared, but Eve will get mega heat this coming monday thanks to Rock.
Doom & Rundown were the only 2 movies to lose money, which is a shock because Rundown is really funny.
Cena won't release another album now because it's almost certain it won't go platinum.
But people went to go see it..go figure.

It wasn't the movie that sucked (didn't see it so I can't say), I mean Cena's mentioning it sucked.
Every time he sees Rock, he should bring up how that sumbitch cost him the WWE title last year. It's strong when he says Rock talks shit on screen but not to his face but then when Rock's in his face, he's smirking and shit.
No more gay talk or tooth fairy talk. No more throwing merch off bridges. Just talk like two guys that want to whoop each other's asses, not like competing standups trying to get the bigger laugh.

I agree. That empty arean interview did more for the feud than any othe the other shit..at least to me. I would have showed training montages of Cena getting ready and talking about how much he needs this win, not goofy smiles.

His scribbling notes wasn't personal business. It was scripted. Rock showed his talent by playing it up like Cena got him.
But the "Cena doesn't have anything on Rock" thing is why this sucks so bad for me. None of this shit matters. Rock is a multiple time World champ. Cena is a multiple time world champ. Rock beat everyone of his generation (or at least they can say he did) and Cena's beaten everyone of his. Hogan and Rock didnt match box office receipts or talk about who might be fucking who backstage.
Eve already has heat over the Zack Ryder shit. Dumping Ryder (which was sufficient) and trying to get with Cena is all the heel move she needed to make.
"Rundown" was really good and Rock showed he could sell tickets to an extent with the family movies as well as action movies.

The empty arena promo was meh to me because with him smiling all the damn time why should i take that promo seriously?

Rock has had a lot of movies but if Cena took the Disney route he could sell tickets as well. WWE films do bad reguardless of the star, so just because it was Cena doesn't mean he can't go hollywood if he wanted to. And you even stated Rocks 1 WWE film flopped as well.

Nah. Only the biggest of acts is going platinum nowadays but I think he could move a nice amount of units just because he's John Cena and WWE would be pumping the hell out of it so a lot of kids would be wanting it. But he's not as roundly popular as he was then so going platinum is going to be much harder.

Bobby Roode and James Storm are on fire in TNA right now. Give me their promos in the last few weeks over rock and rap concerts every time. Roode just roasted Sting last night and talked himself into an ass-whooping.

I've been watching TNA more than WWE due to the balance of promos vs. wrestling.
It's not perfect (last week they spent way too much time on bullshit) but they've really stepped up their game in almost every aspect. Two Knockout matches on the same show? Wow. Divas are hating like hell.
The best WWE match on tv in the last couple weeks was the six man on SD and TNA still had an even better one the other week with Storm, Joe, and Magnus against Ray, Roode, and Aries.
I just wish they would spread it out a little more. There's no reason RVD, Pope, and Devon aren't on tv more often and have their own issues.

Roode makes me wish Sting was about 10 yrs younger so they could have a real, long feud because they have good chemistry. Hopefully Sting's as healthy as he can be and they have a good match at Victory Road (which I'm now on the fence about getting, up from "Not getting at all"). The no holds barred stip will help them out like it did HHH and Taker last year.
Do it in the ring is all im asking.
I might say 13-14 years younger but they do have great chemistry. The entire segment felt like Roode truly believed every word he was saying, off topic but does the TNA belt look like it has a little too much gold on it? My favorite titles were always
1. The Big Gold Belt
2. The WWF Eagle Belt
3. The Undisputed Belt
4. The AE Belt
You know I'm against these weekly faceoffs anyway but I know WWE tries to use all the current media to their advantage so I'm not bothered by it.
