So basically Gresham had a vision for his character/booking however TK thought differently. Gresham thinks just being a great technical wrestler should be enough but that's not how things work. Gresham is like 5' 2 with a bland character. That's not World Championship material. He should've never been world champion in the first place.

TK is trying to get ROH a weekly TV deal and it's going to look better from an optics standpoint to Discovery/ Warner Media execs if your world champion looks legit. Gresham ain't it. He believed in his own hype and when somebody didn't see it his way he got pissed and now wants to leave. He doesn't see the bigger picture. I hope someone can talk some sense into him.

Turning a guy heel a week before a PPV with minimal contact with his PPV opponent and then putting him with a manager who is also gone a week later seems like a failure on Tony Khan's part. Gresham having a different vision is on Gresham. Being 5'2 but a legitimate wrestler should have been fine being that he is on ROH and had been for awhile now. He's short but he looks like an athlete. Being that it's ROH and he had been well established there him being champion wasn't far fetched at all. And if he's been trying to get in touch with Khan who blew those concerns off until just before the PPV then that is also on Khan.

TK is trying to take ROH to the next level and you're not going to do that with a champion that's 5'2. It doesn't matter what Gresham did in ROH prior to Tony buying the company. New owner! New vision! It's as simple as that.

And if he's been trying to get in touch with Khan who blew those concerns off until just before the PPV then that is also on Khan.

TK is a busy dude. Could the communication have been a little better? Sure but at the end of the day Gresham wasn't going to change TK's mind. Nobody knows who Gresham is outside of ROH.

Sounds more like piss poor planning. All of that happened just before the PPV to a relaunched brand that still has no concrete set up

Hard to take it to the next level while pretty much doing nothing with it. He had the 1 event and then nothing for months until a last minute announcement of a PPV. And then that had little to no buildup. And why are we fixating on his height when he looks more like a legitimate athlete and wrestler than many people that Khan has pushed or had on TV regularly like Jungle Boy, Chuck Taylor, Darby Allin, etc.

What does that matter? Using that rationale they should bring in Ryback and have him win a title cause people know him. How many people including those I referenced earlier weren't known anywhere until AEW? Besides he's gone and wrestled in Progress and New Japan, etc so he's plied his trade. I don't know what his hangup was/is and I'd rather have the belt on Claudio but I'm not going to take Tony Khan's side when he has seemed to f this up with a guy who hasn't seemed to have any issues previously. Maybe Khan should either have these plans laid out more concretely, more in advance and have less on his plate.
Cause hey it's just the world title match on a PPV for a brand that you're relaunching that you have such big plans for

Lolz so I'm not the only one NOT buying into TKs BS? Another issue with a Black wrestler?
