I was hoping Awesome Kong would debut last night.

Me too. With 40 people, you could fit her in and the push for Kong vs. Beth would be on.

I don't have a problem with Dolph losing a good match with Edge but I do have a problem with him losing almost every match leading up to it. How would anyone think he was going to win if he gets beat every week on every show (twice by Cena, once by Kofi, once by Orton, once by Edge in a tag match)? I hope they do a better job of pushing Del Rios than they have Ziggler or they did Punk.

And I don't see them doing 40 men again. Way too many lulls in the action.

I have no idea why they don't push kofi, when he came out he got a big pop and the fans love him. The 40 man rumble was ridiculous, and the fact that nash im sorry diesel and booker out popped everyone was both good and bad at the same time.

yeah they both out popped them all. i heard the pop for kofi...i liked him on Raw.

Yeah, it was.

I like him on Smackdown where he can get a long match to show what he can do. His matches with Jack Swagger have been really good and even ppv worthy but they would never get that much time on Raw.
He's kind of small for them to make him one of the top guys but he deserves at least a chance.

That's cool. I keep forgetting to watch Smackdown.

Maybe Kong will show up tonight.

Smackdown is a good show, wrestling wise. The commentary is the running shits because Cole's on there too. Kofi, Swagger, and Dolph were having 15 min matches on there every week.

With the Divas title on Eve (:puke:), now's as good a time as any other. Although she's incredibly dull and not very good, I almost want them to keep the belt on her so Kong can demolish her at Mania.

With Nash and Booker working for WWE, at least for one night, the return of the Main Event Mafia is off so now I'm really interested in TNA's new "They".

And yeah, Kong might make her debut tonight with her being put with the Bellas against Gail Kim. That should be fun.

My stream went out after Nash got in the ring. My fave move has always been the powerbomb. No1 does that anymore.

WWE outlawed for almost everyone so if you want to see any powerbombs, you'll have to check the indies. But now that you mention it, I don't recall seeing many in ROH or TNA either. When Nash left TNA, he took the jackknife with him.

Nash does/did it better than anybody in the biz, i always liked how he released them midair because it made it look more devastating.

I like eve because she's hot and is actually decent in the ring, but to be fair how many divas do people still care about really?

Natalya - Has the hart name working for her event though she's solid in the ring.

Beth - she's a better version of chyna

LayCool - Michelle is the better wrestler but layla is hotter and is improving greatly.

Everyone else get's lukewarm to zero reaction.

I was more in favor of Big Van Vader's. I liked it better when it looked like he drove guys into the mat.

I'm not a fan of Eve's work. Her dropkicks have got to be some of the worse but she insists on using them. She started off strong but then all her progress just stopped.
I don't think Michelle's better than Layla but she's very comfortable working stiff. She can take it and dish it out.
One thing they have going for them is they have a lot of women for Kong to smash up before they put her in with Natalya and Beth. I would even save Gail Kim since we know that's going to be good.

i hear ya man...

I bought this show live and that was worth the price of the ppv. The most amazing thing I'd seen on a ppv since Vader hit a perfect moonsault on Davey Boy Smith in 92.

Of course when Kev tried that a year later, he almost killed both of them.

The crowd was a legit sellout. The only seats tarped off were those behind the set.

- The live crowd was really into the Ziggler-Edge opening bout. I'd say for more than half the match, the majority of the building was standing. Those two obviously put on a helluva show Ziggler, despite being eaten up on Smackdown heading into the event, was really over with the crowd in Boston. A lot of people were chanting "Christian!" on the ref-bump spot that resulted in Edge using the spear.

- The crowd was a little quiet to start Miz-Orton, but I think that's because everyone was so hot for the Ziggler-Edge match. As we got to the finish, when Nexus came out, the crowd woke up big time and popped huge for the finish.

- The crowd was really disappointed to get Eve as the fourth addition to the Divas' match. Obviously most thought it was going to be Awesome Kong, and there were even "Kong!" chants before Eve was announced.

- I was surprised how hot the crowd was at the start of the Rumble. Obviously it was going to be a long match before the payoff with the finish. I think having CM Punk come out as entry No. 1 helped in that regard, because the crowd was into him. I liked the Nexus-Corre brawl to start the match. The "smart" fans in the crowd were electric with Bryan-Punk to start.

- Booker T received a HUGE reaction. Kevin Nash had a huge pop as well. Considering the surprises were not really well kept and at least everyone around me knew they were coming, the reaction was enormous for both men. That says a lot to how over they are. Especially in Nash's case – he's been off of WWE television for what? Six years?

- Another really good pop for Chavo Guerrero's three-amigos suplex spot. The crowd was really into that. Popped huge for every attempt. Good to see Chavo get a quality PPV spot, too.

- It was really entertaining to me to watch some of the younger fans (and some of the … well, less intelligent) who were genuinely pissed off that Miz eliminated John Cena. There was one woman in front of me – she was in her 20′s at least, maybe 30′s – screaming at her friend that Miz wasn't in the Rumble and Cena should NOT have been eliminated. Then went on a tirade about how no referee saw that? Why didn't they just look at the replay on the screen? … Hey lady, it's a work. Don't have a heart attack here.

- I think some in the crowd were disappointed that Triple H didn't make his return at the Rumble. I wasn't as surprised. It really didn't make much sense for Triple H to return unless he was going to win the match. At No. 37, people around me were counting off who still wasn't in, trying to see if Triple H was a possibility. Poor Kane got a lesser reaction because I think some people were disappointed.

- Del Rio winning the Rumble was expected from me, but got a good pop. I just assumed with his build and promos heading into the match meant he was going to win it. A nice little swerve at the end with Santino, that had some in the crowd wondering what was actually happening … one guy yelled, "What the (expletive) is going on!?!?!"

- After the show went off the air, Del Rio and his ring announcer, Ricardo Rodriguez, walked slowly up the aisle and spent a lot of time right by the stage. The camera man seemed to signal for Rodriguez to keep talking while they recorded. Then at one point, Charles Robinson looked like he gave Rodriguez the wrap-up signal. At one point, Rodriguez was on a long (1-2 minute) filibuster (in Spanish, of course) where all I understood was "Rumble" and "Wrestlemania." Then the pair walked to the back and Justin Roberts thanked us all for coming.

MVP signed a deal over the weekend to work for New Japan.

It wasn't easy, either, as MVP's 9-year stint in federal prison left him previously unable to travel to Japan at all. Japan's anti-felon policy made it tough for the wrestler to get his working visa there, but the government eventually relented.

I would love to know how they decided to use Eve. Her role has gotten smaller and smaller since her face off with Miz a couple months ago and she's just not as good as any of the other three women.

I saw this and it's great news. MVP is a fan of New Japan and says Masahiro Chono is a personal hero and inspiration (we can tell from the way he uses kicks). He can only improve working over there and he is already good.

I'm a fan of MVP. I like him better as a heel.

I did too but he got over big as a face so he showed his versatility AND STILL GOT BURIED!

sure did

- David Hart Smith and Darren Young were the two guys announced for the Rumble that were not on the show last night. They were told earlier in the week that they were taken out of the Rumble match. Smith is Providence for tonight's Raw.

Notes For Tonight’s TNA Impact Tapings (SPOILERS)
Posted by Larry Csonka on 01.31.2011

The latest on tonight’s tapings.

- The TNA crew returned home yesterday from the European tour.

- TNA tapes Impact tonight, which is the heavily hyped February 3rd episode. Do not expect the Main Event Mafia to return tonight, as TNA has decided to go with a new direction for "They." Word is that it is a completely different direction, which was decided several days ago, and according to a source, "When it goes down, people who expected a ton of big names might be surprised, but it's a move that's better for the company overall."

- Sting is not scheduled for tonight's TV tapings

- At this time, it has not been decided if Ric Flair will be used on TV this week.

Awesome Kong was backstage last night at the Royal Rumble, but was not used. She is expected to debut at any time.

- There was a ton of talk internally about the reactions that Booker T and Kevin Nash got at last night's show.

- Booker signed a long-term deal, but it was planned that he would be a manager who did some wrestling and coaching. But due to his reaction last night and the fact that he can still go, he may get a longer in ring run. There was talk about programming him with some main level guys after last night.

- Kevin Nash signed a short term deal, but they are open to doing more business with him. TV is being rewritten, and their roles on tonight's show should show if they have any serious plans with them going forward

Now the word I've gotten is they had transportaton issues and weren't going to be able to make it to the show in time.

I like Del Rio's character so I can dig him winning...but FUCK WWE for doing Booker like that. Booker should slap piss outta Cena.

They probably could have given him some more time and offense but the plan is for him to be there on a more regular, longer term basis than Nash.

Booker as a manager would be cool.

Looks like Sting is coming the night after Elimination Chamber or possibly at the PPV.

I wonder how they're going to use Booker T - maybe as Teddy Long's enforcer since he got attacked a couple weeks ago?
