Great segment! So the Young Bucks kicked Kenny Omega out of the Elite and Okada joins the Elite and will be working heel in AEW. Corporate Okada! I love it! Storyline wise they can build up Kingston vs. Okada for the next ppv. Okada takes the Continental Crown championship off of Kingston then when Omega comes back they can do Omega/Okada 5 at "All In".

So it looks like Ospreay's first feud will be Bryan Danielson. They have plenty of time to build it for the next ppv. I think the benefit of having a lot of ppv is you don't have to put filler on tv anymore. You can start building stories/feuds immediately because there's another ppv right around the corner. This may help TK have more focus/direction with his booking.

I was out at my son's track meet so I only caught the last 40 minutes or so of Dynamite tonight.
Looks like they put a fresh coat of paint on the presentation, including a refreshed logo, but a few things are still problematic for their weekly show:
  • I saw Kris Statlander do a job to Rhio. Not too sure about that booking. Statlander has potential and can be their version of Rhea Ripley if booked right. Losing to a girl that's almost half your weight is not a good look in terms of building her up.
  • Unless AEW is gonna cover Darby Allen live climbing Mount Everest I don't understand the point of mentioning it on TV (or even doing it in the first place). Is TK really gonna allow his talent that he's paying a lot of money to to do something that stupid? I get he's a daredevil, but sheesh.
  • They clearly ran long on time and went almost 10 minutes past 9pm for the Ospreay/Kyle Fletcher match. Good match, but I'm worried that Ospreay is gonna eventually blow out his knees or something doing all those high impact moves and landings on a weekly basis. That style can work if you're only wrestling once a month on a PPV or whatever but he will not last if he's doing that every week.

I agree. Also, whenever they bring in Riho she beats someone then goes back to Japan and they never develop stories for her. If she's not gonna get stories, then they should keep her ass on Rampage. The dilemma with Statlander is she's at the back of the bus in regard to a World title push and winning the TBS title again does nothing for her. I think TK needs to introduce those Tag belts. This way you give wrestlers like Willow, Statlander, Shida, Skye Blue, etc something to do while waiting for their world title push.

I don't think TK is paying Darby a lot of money. His contract is most likely on the lower end. You're not gonna invest a lot of money in a guy doing the crazy shit that Darby does.

They tend to do overruns a lot. Warner Brothers/Discovery gives TK that flexibility.

Somebody will sit his ass down and say chill out.

When he showed up, We went crazy in there!!...You're right, Okada being a heel at AEW will be a good thing!!...

After that match, that stare down with Ospreay and Danielson was good!!.. ....We are about to see some damn good matches this year in AEW!!..

He's basically a luchador trapped inside a juiced up 300lb body. He has no clue how to work as a big man.
Looks like Okada got paid. New Japan definitely wasn't gonna give him that to stay.

Ridiculous.
I know he's supposed to be a great worker (never seen any of his matches) but there's no way he's worth that much here in America.
You only pay someone that much if you think you can at least make all that money back through increased ticket sales, merch, PPV, etc.
TK, the money mark strikes again. :money:

Brian Cage is the lamest wrestler ever. His look, his beard, his gear, his promos. All weak.
Dude could be a beast but he does come off as lame as hell. And he needs to close his damn mouth in his promo pictures. Every time I see a poster shot of dude, he has his mouth open like he's going Super Saiyan.....instead he's just a Super LameMan.

I think he can make at least half that money back but not all of it. There's a money making 5th match he can do with Omega. He can do something with MJF, Swerve, Samoa Joe, Ospreay, White, Cole and Moxley. There's money matches there TK just needs properly build them.

This is interesting considering his wife is a big time actress in Japan. I would figure he would get a deal where he wouldn't have to relocate but I guess he's committed full-time.
