I actually agree with this. I always called out AEW early on for going back on their original promise of being more sports based, especially when they basically became WWE Lite. I may actually watch the product if they do this.

Part of me thought he just looked stiff like he's working off ring rust.
Another pattern of me did think he looked more stole than normal. Randy ain't never been a muscle-bond Vince prototype.
I hope the added muscle works with his ring style.

Yeah and that's why you need a Vince at times. You need someone at times to make decisions who have millions and billions on the line. Putting that power in wrestlers hands is crazy and thirsty. Someone gotta be the adult in the room not the best friend.

Sorry, but AEW going more "NJPW Lite" with tournaments and stats is not gonna boost TV ratings and attendance, which is what they really need right now. Getting rid of storylines and focusing on matches will not draw in more viewers.
Storylines in wrestling have always driven people to watch the matches.
All it does is cater to the hardcores who are already watching and going to the shows.
Hearing TK at the press conference rattle off the structure of this upcoming tournament just gave me a headache.
A "sports-based" wrestling promotion should resemble an updated Mid South type promotion

For the record NJPW has storylines they're just told in a different way. Nobody is saying get rid of storylines completely just tell those storylines in a sports centric way instead of an sports entertainment soap opera way.
But if you go completely WWE Lite the hardcores will stop watching and going to the shows and they're the ones who got you to the dance in the first place.
This tournament is just a smaller version of the NJPW G1 Climax tournament which is a round robin style tournament. You have two blocks of wrestlers (in this case six) in each block. Each wrestler will wrestle an opponent from each block. You're awarded points for wins and ties. The wrestlers with the most points in each block will then wrestle each other in a finals match.
If a New Japan sports based promotion won't bring in viewers than a Mid South version definitely won't do it either. The reality is being an alternative to WWE isn't going to bring in a lot of viewers. That's okay. You're NEVER gonna do WWE better than WWE so stop focusing on that and focus on what you do better than WWE and that's producing quality wrestling. As long as the executives at Warner/Discovery are cool with what you're doing (and they seem to be) that's all that should matter.
TK threw the bag at her and she's going to AEW. This way she can get the bag, work a lighter schedule, be the face of the division and still work New Japan/Stardom dates. She won't get that type of deal in WWE.

False, while your correct he was boo'd out of the building, fans are humans. He left because he had a disease and expressed that on television as the reason for his sabattical. People empathized with that. When he returned he came back as a heel. It's been that way ever since.
Brother Mastermind2002, I never saw her wrestle before so I went back and watch some of her matches at WWE and at NJW and Stardom!!..She's alright!!..If TK gave to her good deal to come to AEW..she will be a help at the Women's Division and they got Mariah May there as well..So this might a good look!!..

Nyla gets a bad rap. She's actually very safe in the ring. Way more safe than Nia Jax. Also, yes Mercedes would have to carry Britt in the ring but not on the mic. There will be a lot of good feuds for Mercedes.

Sasha is another one I’m describing when I talk about some are just suppose to be in WWE. She’s another. She’s a star. I get she wants to push herself and adventure out but I think eventually she will be done with that and that’s going back to WWE.
Also, with Mariah May...I went back and saw some of Mariah May matches on Youtube!!..She's alright in the ring!!..If Mercedes comes to AEW, she will have good feuds with the women's wrestlers that are there!!..
I forgot about Mariah. A Mercedes/Mariah match would definitely be a banger.
I don't get wrapped up in the whole superstar stuff. Don't care! At the end of the day I'm a fan that wants the best matchups possible. Mercedes going back to WWE wrestling a bunch of women she already wrestled in the watered down WWE style is boring to me. Mercedes outside of WWE is fresh and exciting with all kinds of dream matchups.
