Probably WB's idea.
There's a strong belief (not confirmed) that WB has partial ownership of AEW so they get to call the final shots when it comes to the number of shows airing on TV and PPV.
I'm worried they are going down the same path as Turner and WCW during the late 90s when turner wanted 'Thunder' and more PPVs like 'Souled Out' and the product became watered down, oversaturated, with the production and creative spread too thin.
 
WWE already made Brian Pillman WAY more interesting in the three months he's been there versus the few years TK had him in AEW.

This was a great vignette/introduction and although I'm still not too keen on the name change, it makes sense the way he explained it.

I refuse to believe any of these sites/rumor guys regarding the Punk to WWE story.

Of course they (Punk and WWE) would want to downplay it or make it look as if it isn't going to happen.

If Ultimate Warrior can make it back to WWE of course Punk can, especially with the money involved and can be made, the way his AEW run ended and with Vince out and WWE/UFC under the same umbrella, it just makes too much sense for it to happen.

Lolz with all the teases they have been dropping too? Yeah, it's happening.

Yeah, I still think Wrestling Companies shouldn't have alot of PPV's in a year!!...4 PPV's a year is good enough!!...But, this does sounds like a WB Media/Discovery idea!!... :smh:

I never understood why Punk made a big deal about this. He walked away.

I guess his biggest issue was getting fired on the day of his wedding, but honestly, it wasn't like he was planning on going back so whether he got fired the day of versus two days after his wedding, he walked out and was still on the payroll for almost half a year.

Was WWE on some petty shit? Absolutely. So was Punk.
 
I'm surprised NXT didn't go over 1 Million considering they loaded the show with Cody, Cena, and The Undertaker. Although AEW lost in the ratings they put on the better show last night.

 
I just went back and watched this week AEW Dynamite(Title Tuesday)..That was a damn good action packed show!!. :yes: ..The fight card lineup was good and the crowd seems to really enjoyed themselves at the show!!..They started it off right with the first match with Danielson vs Swerve!!...When you have Danielson or Swerve in a match, you know you going to get a good one..Lucky, they fought each other..It was damn good!!..:yes:...Good to see Powerhouse Hobbs is back...He straight destroyed Jericho in that match!!..that was crazy!!...I like that Jay White vs Hangman match!!...That was a good one!!..I was shocked that they put the belt back on Orange Cassidy again!!..I wasn't feeling that decision!!....The last match was good as well..It been a long time since I saw Adam Copeland(Edge) fought in a match but the match was good and that all those wrestlers came out at the end was cool as well...

Oh Yeah, That segment with Christian Cage was good!!..Christian Cage is the Heel Wrestler of the Year!!..He's doing good work right now!!..:yes:


Overall, It was a damn good show!!...Keep it going AEW!!..:yes:

Yo, I think they are going to put that AEW International Belt on him...He going to beat Orange Cassidy next time for that belt!!..I would like for him to get the AEW World Championship Belt but I think they going to put the AEW International Title Belt on him!!..

Seriously, I don’t know why AEW insisted on going so long with that segment, and the way it ended just seemed weird, with MJF storming off being triggered by the roll of quarters. I get the story behind it, but is that how you want your world champion to be presented? Just comes off as weak….

The main event was meh. Edge just looks fucking old. Crazy how well Christian looks compared to him.

The Breakker/Hayes match was good, not great.

The women’s AEW championship match was boring. Glad Paige dropped the belt, she’s horrible in the ring.

Asuka vs Perez was ok but nothing earth shattering.

Bryan vs Swerve was entertaining.

The Bar Brawl was fun. I like the dart board spot Lolz.

Hobbs damn near squashing Jericho was surprising.

The NXT championship match was fun. Dom continues to get better in the ring.

The way both promotions hyped up these shows, I thought it was going to be better than what we got, but it was an entertaining night of wrestling.

Yeah, I believe that the wrestling world is good when you have more than one wrestling company that's doing good!!...When you have two different types of wrestling companies, Wrestling is more entertaining to to watch!!..

Yes, we're still getting excellent wrestling matches but we're starting to see a consistent shift and focus toward storytelling and character work. This will help AEW longterm as it will keep viewers engaged in the show. This is all AEW needed in the first place. Interesting stories and character work to go along with the in ring product. Just got to keep building on it.

Yeah, I agree..The Storylines and Characters work has been on point lately at AEW!!.. :yes: ...I wonder if TK went and got some old wrestling consultants to help him with storylines and Characters development??

Two wrestling promotions AND an NFL team. He needs to lay off Twitter and the coke, and like you said, let someone else do the PR.

I can't think this is a good look to WB executives who are investing in AEW.
