Thoughts on ROH SuperCard Of Honor ....

PRESHOW

Colt Cabana/Blake Christian:
This was fun. Colt did a lot of comedy spots in this but the match had a nice flow to it. I haven't seen too much of Christian but man he's a phenomenal athlete. Would love to see him go against Dante Martin in the future. Cobana gets the win here.

Miranda Alize/A.Q.A: I enjoyed this. Solid work from both women. A.Q.A does a excellent shooting star press. I like what I saw out of Alize. When TK officially relaunches ROH both these women need to be serious players in the women's division.

Cheeseburger & Eli Isom/Kaun & Toa Liona (Gates Of Agony)
: Basically a squash match for Gates Of Agony. They look very impressive. Apparently they're apart of Tully Blanchard's new faction.

Joe Henry/Dalton Castle: Good match. I'm not the biggest Castle fan but he did some good work here.

MAIN SHOW

Zayne/Swerve:
Excellent spotfest match. The highlighted spot was the reverse Rana by Zayne taking Swerve off the ring apron. Finishing sequence was pretty good. I wouldn't eliminated a few of the near falls as this was the first match on the main card. Good match nonetheless.

Ninja Mack/Brian Cage:
So Cage is now apart of Tully Blanchard's new faction. It was the right decision to move him to ROH as he wasn't going to get much traction in AEW. This was a nice squash match to re-establish his dominance. If booked properly he should be a main player in the ROH main event scene. Tully Blanchard has assembled a good looking beast faction. Excited to see what TK does with them.

Lee Moriarty/Jay Lethal: This was good. Started off a tad slow but picked up midway through. The last few minutes were pretty good with counters and constant roll-ups. The highlight was Lethal low blowing Moriarty and officially turning heel. In my opinion Lethal works better as a heel so I'm interested to see where this goes.

Willow/Mercedes Martinez: Meh match. Slow, sloppy and boring. Willow is just not a good worker. She hesitates way too much when executing certain moves and a lot of what she does doesn't look convincing. She legit hurt Mercedes on a moonsault that didn't land properly. Mercedes wins and is crowned the new interim ROH Women's World champion. She'll face Deonna Purrazzo at some point in the future to unify the titles.

Briscoes/FTR: Absolute classic and MOTY candidate. They've been building this match up for months on Twitter and it finally happened and it lived up to the hype. The energy and brutality in this match was so damn good. Would love to see this match again down the road. FTR are the new ROH World Tag Team champions. Young Bucks came out post match and set up FTR/Young Bucks II for next Wednesday's Dynamite.

Minoru Suzuki/Rhett Titus: This was okay. It was the right call to put the title on Suzuki. He can add some prestigiousness to it by defending it in New Japan while TK works on the ROH relaunch.

Wheeler Yuta/Josh Woods: T
his match would've worked better if it was placed earlier in the card. Since it's technically based it requires more attention to the details. Since it was placed later in a card the crowd wasn't as invested as they should've been. I'm okay with Yuta winning as he can defend the belt in AEW while TK works on the ROH relaunch.

Jonathan Gresham/Bandido: A lot of fun once it got going. There was a delayed suplex spot that Bandido did on Gresham that was very unique and got the crowd fired up. Finishing stretch was really good. Gresham wins and unifies both ROH World championships. Post match Jay Lethal comes out and beats down Gresham then Samoa Joe comes out to a huge pop. It will be interesting to see how Joe is utilized in both ROH and AEW.

Overall excellent show. I enjoyed it. Excited to see what TK does with ROH going forward. Obviously the first order of business is to get a TV deal then once they have that established they can go from there. It's been a good weekend of wrestling thus far. Now it's time for me to watch WrestleMania night 1 an offer my thoughts on that.

She’s the best heel they have. She’s as advertised…..they’ve been trying to make female heels but just can’t do it.

I think Rhonda Rousey legit pisses off fans with her attitude for stuff like this. She is not liked by fans for a reason lol.

Ronda Rousey was said to be unhappy about her match with Charlotte Flair not going on last at WWE WrestleMania.

As previously noted, she was on The Ellen Degeneres Show earlier in the week to promote WrestleMania and she talked about being in the main event of this year’s show. The problem with that is that the plan was for Steve Austin and Kevin Owens to close out the show.

Bryan Alvarez said during his WrestleMania recap on F4WOline.com that Rousey walked out on Friday when she was told that she was not going on last.

Alvarez said, “Here’s the deal for those who want to know. So on Tuesday, Ronda was doing an interview and she said that she was going on last, she was the main event. On Monday, Kevin Owens said I’m the main event. Ronda thought that she was going on last. She wasn’t, Kevin Owens show was going on last. When she found out, she was furious, I was told. One person who knows her, so I presume that this is true, said that she was so mad yesterday, Friday, that she walked out so she wasn’t at the Hall Of Fame. Cooler heads prevailed, I guess and she showed up today.”

Alvarez reiterated that Rousey was “angry” that she was not going on last. The KO Show ended up turning into an actual match for Steve Austin so it’s possible that Rousey was not told about that in advance. It made the most sense to have Austin’s last match close out the show.

You get angry over STEVE AUSTIN taking the main event spot in his return AFTER 19 YEARS????

Night 2 to have The Rock?

The Rock's mother Ata Johnson and his wife Lauren Hashian were in attendance at Wrestlemania 38 Night One. Shawn Michaels' wife, Rebecca was also at the event. WRESTLEMANIA MATCH RESCHEDULED FOR NIGHT TWO, MORE NAMES AT EVENT, SAMI ON KEVIN OWENS' WRESTLEMANIA MAIN EVENT & MORE | PWInsider.com
Roman wins.... gets on the mic talking about being the head of the table, the family earner, tribal chief, etc....

The Rock comes out and checks him, takes offense...Builds to WM in LA next year.

Samoan family feud type of shit....

Samoan family feud type of shit....

That's what a lot of people are expecting and hopefully something like that goes down or a lot of people will be disappointed. Roman bragging that he beat Brock, while Rock couldn't is another layer that could be used.

Nah I didn't watch it. I'm talking about his hype, you don't think this will be brief?
Long term, I don't. Cody seems to have gotten quite a lot in terms of his bargaining power. He was able to keep his name, his music, his gimmick, the identity he built over the last six years. On top of that, he was named as a producer of the A&E documentary they are doing on his father....

WWE will push and promote him heavily, especially knowing AEW talent, like MJF, Sammy Guevara, Wardlow, etc...will see how Cody is being treated and may test "free agency" in the next couple of years.

People always say WWE ruins wrestlers, and to a point, they have, however when they want to push a talent, they will do everything they can to do so, especially if it makes business sense.

Black twitter is pissed at Corey Graves for saying "What the hell is this" when Texas Southern's Band introduced Bianca Belair

Is it good heel announcing or racist as hell?
Good heel announcers are smart, well cultured and traveled and generate heat through humor. Bobby The Brain Heenan was the perfect heel announcer. Jesse Ventura came a close second.

Graves is cosplaying as a heel announcer. He isn't good enough to make that comment come off as good heel announcing, more like ignorant uninformed CAC shit.

Thoughts on WrestleMania 38 Night 1 ....

Rick Boogs & Shinsuke Nakamura/Usos:
Okay opener. Unfortunately Boogs legit tore his quad so the match had to be cut short. Usos retain.

Happy Corbin/Drew McIntyre: This was pretty good. Had the proper amount of energy and flow. The highlight was McIntyre kicking out of the "End Of Days" finisher. McIntyre finished off Corbin with the claymore for the win.

Rey & Dominic Mysterio/ The Miz & Logan Paul: I went into this with low expectations but this actually turned out to be pretty good. This is probably the best that Dominic has looked. His high flying maneuvers are solid; he just needs to add some psychology based moves to his moveset to become more complete. Paul looked pretty damn good out there as well. He's been trained very well. Everything he did was solid. Miz got the pin for the win then turned on Paul laying him out in a satisfying fashion. On a side note I don't watch WWE on a regular basis so I wasn't aware that they have a black female referee. Very nice.

Bianca Belair/Becky Lynch:
Great match! Loved the storytelling here. Probably the best in-ring work that Becky has done since she came back from maternity leave. Her gimmick is still trash but she did an excellent job here. As for Bianca I actually prefer this match over the one she had with Sasha Banks last year at WrestleMania. While the match with Sasha had more importance (two black women main eventing Wrestlemania) this one was better from an in-ring standpoint. The only thing I would've done different in regard to the finish is have Becky kick out of the KOD for at least one nearfall then have Bianca do it again for the win. Great match nonetheless. Happy for Bianca. Her redemption from the Summerslam embarrassment is complete.

Seth Rollins/Cody Rhodes: So Cody had to go to the WWE to get cheered. Lol. As for the match itself it was good. I would've liked a better psychology based match but this was fine. Too bad Seth had to put this hypocrite over. Now we play the waiting game. 6 months from now is Cody going to be in the main event scene, still in the midcard or buired?

Ronda Rousey/Charlotte Flair:
It wasn't horrible but it wasn't good either. Sloppy and awkward. Crowd was dead for most of this. How the hell this match get positioned this deep in the card? Charlotte retains.

Kevin Owens/Steve Austin:
Was good for what it was. Owens did a great job bumping for Austin. The match did what it needed to do which was send the crowd home Happy.

Overall I would have to say that it was an excellent night one of Wrestlemania. Massive improvement from last year. They did a lot of things right. MOTN was Bianca/Becky. I'm curious as to what night two has to offer.

I think he'll get pushed, but his plans on wanting to be the best in the world and main championship I don't know. Roman has that locked especially if Rock is his challenger at next year's Mania. He may just be upper midcard and sniff at the main event unless they split the titles again after tonight.

I won’t knock her for that though. I think you want your wrestlers to want to main event. She’s arguably one of the biggest names. She will get over it lol.
