Not talking about a developmental promotion. A strictly:'Hey I need x amount of dollars and I will pay you back with this amount of interest." Forbidden Doors and developmental... Nobody wants that let alone Vince

And of all the wrestlers who signed with WWE long term who also didn't have a previous relationship with WWE: RVD and Tommy Dreamer and Taz that really isn't a lot.
Dudley Boyz, Dawn Marie, and eventually Paul Heyman himself too. Damn near all of ECW eventually got signed to WWE at some point.
Vince kept ECW alive long enough to eventually profit off them in perpetuity.

Xaiver has an inch and is 20lbs lighter, so Jay is going NOWHERE near WWE... Well, maybe if R-Truth retired tomorrow and someone was needed to do segments with Tozawa, then MAYBE.

Shit money talks.....I don;'t even know if WWE would be interested......But shit if he had no issue in ROH I don't see how NXT is a downgrade.

They wouldn't put that title on him lol. Well Id on't think so but that's just my opinion.

Honestly I could see him in WWE but he'd be regulated to just doing those impressions....

Bro, before the pandemic, he was ranked in the Top 20 male wrestlers in the world. Like probably the best black technical wrestler in the world, and all y'all can see is him going to WWE just to rehash a gimmick he did 10 years ago?

If he ain't the nigga to put the AEW title on, then who?

Lethal is definitely World Championship material. If he went to AEW it wouldn't be a question of "if" but rather "when".

Thoughts and observations on "Rampage" this evening.

Bryan Danielson/Eddie Kingston (AEW World Eliminator Tournament Semi-Final Round): Definitely an All Japan inspired match. Stiff, brutal with solid psychology. Danielson and Kingston were fantastic.

Kingston interrupted CM Punk's interview so I guess he's next to be fed to Punk.

Matt Sydal/Dante Martin 3: Good match. All Dante needs to do is keep working his ass off and he'll get that Sammy Guevara like push down the road.

Abadon/Britt Baker (No DQ): They didn't have enough time so they half assed this match. I would like to see this again but with more time. They got some boos when they tried to do a suplex table spot twice but the table wouldn't break. I like Abadon's gimmick but she needs to get better in the ring. That's what's holding her back.

Comparing Abadon from her first match to tonight is showing growth, because she was super green then....

She getting better

Sydal and Martin matches are always good

Bryan's chest looked like raw hamburger tonight... Eddie's a beast passing out with a middle finger....

This would have been a perfect spot for Windham Rotunda to come out and call Abandon Sister Abigail cut a promo how he has spent the last 6 month in search of her and was led here to reunite the family he then brings out Eric Rowan and Braun Strowman

I think they're saving him for "Full Gear".

They ain't putting that title on no brother lol.....unless I'm to believe no brother is worthy of that title over there......

Just because it took WWE 67 years to find four brothers out of dozens to put the WWE title on, that doesn't mean AEW is going to be the same way.

Honestly, none of the brothers they have so far are main event draws yet. But if they were to get Jay Lethal or Keith Lee, two beloved black indy vets that already have relationships with the Elite, and don't really need any polish, those are two guys they could instantly shoot up the card and either one of them could be AEW champion within two years of signing.

You put either of them in a main event versus Kenny, Danielson, Punk, Cole, Darby, Cody, Hangman, Mox, etc., like next week, that main event gone slap.

Way more potential for him in AEW. Going to WWE would make absolutely no sense:

1) They don't want him - they literally just said no short people and no more people in their 30s, and no indy style. He's like 35.

2) Money ain't guaranteed. He'll go from one company that abruptly shortened his contract to another company that will do the exact same thing for "budget cuts" despite being in the green all year.

3) He'll be reduced to a goofball gimmick, a racial gimmick or a generic one. See Ricochet, Apollo and Keith Lee.

4) And his ceiling will be that MAYBE he'll have a AJ Styles feud where they'll VAGUELY mention their TNA past.

And that's it. There is nothing there for that man.

What separates Jay Lethal from all of the others is his Mic skills. That’s what the WWE cherish after Size and Youth.
AEW is more about the technical wrestling.
The problem with AEW is you just listed a laundry list of people in line to carry the belt not to mention Miro, Brian Cage, Jericho once last time, Sammy Guevara it will 5-6 years before it’s his time to be pushed. Unless he wants to be the TBS or TNT champ might be a good look.
I could see Jay Lethal and Scorpio Sky vs FTR for Tag Team title or the Elite.

In the WWE he will have to use a B rated show like NXT or Main Event to showcase his skills, but you’re right Vince is moving away from this style of veteran wrestlers. Just Imagine a Jay Lethal vs Finn Baylor match.

NWA might be his only option if he wants to be the face of a company

AEW is such a Mark organization I'm sure the when would be Feb 1 or June 19

It wouldn't be that soon. AEW treats it's championship like New Japan does. Usually it's at least 8 months to a year title reigns for the champion. If Jay signed with AEW he would have to wait in line behind Hangman, Bryan Danielson, CM Punk, MJF, Miro, etc. It would probably be at three years before could be in a position to be champion unless he blows Tony out of the water with his in ring and promo work. He would really have to do some amazing work to jump the line over the guys I mentioned above.
