He dropped the TNT title to Cody and took a leave of absence for about 2 months. Dave Meltzer said a month ago that things were being kept quiet about his absence. Guess he was battling a lung illness all this time.
I was hoping he was out because AEW was planning on expanding the Dark Order story to NJPW and to defeat Moxley for the US belt.

But wtf, man that's crazy. And his match with Cody where he lost the TV title was his last match?

That's almost as eerie as that last promo Ultimate Warrior gave the day before he died. It was like he knew it was he last time.

Maybe I am remembering that match wrong, but didn't he look slow to get up after the match if I am correct? I was thinking he had been off TV for an injury he sustained in that match.
 
Going back to the storyline in the Dark order, I can see why they are focused on Dustin Rhodes turning him into "7"...

They knew about Brodie's illness and just thought that he would just be out for a substantial period of time.....
