I'll watch his documentary when I get a chance. One of the few wrestlers who's character from Scottie the Body to Raven seemed like it was a natural progression of one person throughout different promotions. That crazy angle when he was in WCW with He was with canyon and Sandman when he was there was very surreal looking back. Like that story was a ahead of it's time. Not great, but too layered for a good story to be told in the hands of booking at that time. Or maybe i'm looking too deep into it.

Mercedes comes, wins the belt, comes back in a couple months & loses the belt. 2 biggest selling shows in that companies history & she legitimized the new champ.

Putting the AEW title on her while she's holding all these other indy titles, then having her lose those titles to random ass people make no sense if she is AEW champion, that was a clear take from my original post. What doesn't make sense about this? They're hyping all these title wins to make her look strong and damn near unbeatable. You talking about suspending disbelief, believing her as AEW champion while she loses to13 people who don't matter would be hard to believe. Homie...how is this convoluted?!?!?! I only talked about Mone and indy promotions. I didn't bring up anything else (besides Ultimo Dragon for reference. If you meant long winded, for fcuks sake I will own up to that!!! Here's the TLDR version of what I said: "I ain't coming back! You put your belt on me, I did some of your shows, we both made some money and now I'm out!" That's what her dropping 13 belts will mean.

They normally don't seem to have an exit strategy for these belt collecting stories. They become CONVOLUTED and hard to follow and people lose interest in the stories themselves as sometimes you just can't follow ALL the promotions involved. If you remember the Kenny Omega belt collector story (amazing they picked it up with Sasha, what a year later) he got hurt and they had to hand all the belts back...although THAT in itself is an exit strategy!!! Think about it. You keep your champ looking strong for you smart marks. Champ gets a break after that grueling schedule and the promotions get all their belts back to do a tournament for their belt. EVERYBODY WINS!!!

I want a full Mercedes crashout. First she loses the TNT title then every weekend she loses 1 or 2 belts until she loses them all, has a mental breakdown, then she can turn into a face to finally win the big belt.
Nick Nemmith said something similar to this on Busted Open, this makes sense, not for her to win the AEW title, then start losing the others. Even if she doesn't turn face, this scenario works.
