Cats are going to say I'm just bashing The Elite but honestly, I'm not surprised that The Elite are staying in AEW. Neither the Bucks, Omega or Page have evolved over the last few years. They are basically the same characters and wrestlers since AEW began and going over to WWE would have forced them to actually change.

Neither of these guys are that great on the mic and just rely on the lot in ring work, and in WWE, that will only get you so far.

Had they signed with WWE, they would have been exposed.

They were never going to WWE and I agree they wouldn't fare well in WWE's system.
All that Indy-rific stuff they like to do in every match would have to go and they would get destroyed on the mic.
I think they purposely put the rumor out there (about WWE being interested) for leverage to resign for more money with the money mark himself, TK.

WWE's system is too watered down. The Elite could make it work if they wanted to but what is really there for them. Let's take the Young Bucks. You build and eventually have the money match with the Usos THEN WHAT? Tag team wrestling isn't prioritized in WWE like it is in AEW and New Japan. Omega comes in and has a money match with Rollins or Reigns THEN WHAT? I could easily see Omega and the Bucks getting bored real quick and say to themselves was it worth it. AEW gives them variety to do different things. In WWE you're stuck in they're box.

All that Indy-rific stuff they like to do in every match would have to go and they would get destroyed on the mic.

Who over there is destroying Omega on the mic? Omega is actually very good on the stick. The Bucks are a different story but that's never been they're strong suit.

TK was gonna resign them regardless. You would have to be a complete idiot not to resign The Elite.

So in 4 years you're supposed to change your gimmick no matter what? You only evolve when it's time to evolve. Omega is STILL red hot. Hangman is STILL red hot. The only ones that I agree need the change is the Young Bucks.

Make no mistake about it Omega would be a top guy in WWE. He can adapt to the WWE way but it would get boring to him real fast.

Never said no matter what. I said they haven't evolved. They are the same characters they were when AEW started. Most of their roster has evolved.
You only evolve when it's time to evolve.
No, you evolve to keep your character interesting. You cannot honestly say they are interesting at the moment.
Omega is STILL red hot.
He isn't selling tickets. Wasn't doing this when he was champion, isn't doing this now.
Hangman is STILL red hot.
See above.

We'll never know since he resigned with AEW.
He can adapt to the WWE way but it would get boring to him real fast.
That's a great excuse. Lolz

Like who? Moxley is the same. Darby is the same. MJF is the same. Sammy Guevara the same. Orange Cassidy, etc. The only one constantly changing his gimmick is Jericho.

Yes. Omega is interesting. literally running neck and neck for wrestler of the year with Will Ospreay.

He isn't selling tickets. Wasn't doing this when he was champion, isn't doing this now.

Of course, he's selling tickets but it's all apart of a collective. "Forbidden Door 2" was a success because of his involvement. They're reaching record numbers for their "All In" London show because of his involvement.

That's a great excuse. Lolz

No excuse just facts. After the money matches are done in WWE what is there left for Omega to do? His character literally is "The Best Bout Machine", not doing soap opera "Days of your lives" WWE storylines. He would be bored out his mind.

You’re right, those guys you mentioned are the same, however: Jungle Boy. Britt Baker. Luchasaurus. Miro..... Not saying their changes worked, but at least they evolved somewhat.

Wrestler of the year? To who? Meltzer and other AEW marks?

Forbidden Door was successful because it was a PPV in Toronto. All In is getting record numbers because it's in London.

Neither of those shows would have received the same gate had they taken place stateside.

Excuse. What you consider "best bout" material, others consider boring. Him staying in AEW is safe. He's happy staying in his lane. More power to him, but don't make it sound like he's not going to WWE because he would be bored, he doesn't want to go because he would be challenged to evolve his style and work, and that's not something he wants to do. Not hating on him, but you're making excuses for him.

Wrestler of the year? To who? Meltzer and other AEW marks?

No, to wrestling fans who actually watch wrestling matches and pay attention to what's going on outside of the WWE bubble. Omega and Ospreay have delivered two of the best matches this year. God tier level shit! I don't need Meltzer to tell me that. I've seen it with my OWN eyes. No match WWE has produced this year even comes close.

Perhaps not but let's not act like AEW hasn't had successful shows in the states because they have. The whole reason why AEW exists in the first place is because Cody, the Bucks, and Omega proved they could do a 10,000 gate when Meltzer said they couldn't.

He doesn't want to "evolve his style and work" IN THAT WAY because he doesn't want to be watered down. In WWE what exactly is he "evolving" to? Days of our lives Soap Oprea? Because if it's not to be the best wrestler in the world (which he already is) what's the point? Who wants to turn on Smackdown and see Omega reduced to soap opera drama with LA Knight or the Miz? Boring! Again, no excuses I'm just putting myself in his shoes. I wouldn't want to do that shit. Could he do it? Sure, but it's so beneath him. It's like asking someone to be a lesser version of themselves. Imagine the Incredible Hulk having a sitdown with Vince McMahon ...

Vince McMahon: Here in WWE you can't be the Incredible Hulk you have to be Professor Hulk.

Hulk: Why?

Vince McMahon: Because we talk a lot in this promotion and that's what people want to see.

Hulk: Hulk just want to do what he do best and SMASH!

Vince McMahon: You can't do that. You have to cut a 20 min promo in the ring first.

Hulk: Hulk bored!

Melo will cook his ass on the Mic. Kenny has a great work rate but his promos are straight garbage

If you think Kenny is a garbage promo then you haven't been paying attention. Dude can cut promos in both English and Japanese. He's very solid on the mic. He's just not allowed to show it often in AEW because at the end of the day what's going to be remembered years from now some promo or a great match. Years from now they'll still be talking about the Omega/Okada series and Omega/Ospreay series. Will anything Melo has done be remembered in the same light? NOPE!

Why not both?

Macho Man's "Cream rises to the top" promo is remembered very fondly, so is his match against Steamboat at WMIII.

Dusty Rhodes "Hard Times" promo is remembered very fondly, so are his battles with Flair/the Horsemen.

Ric Flair promos and his battles with Steamboat, Macho, Sting, etc...

Austin's "King of the Ring/3:16" promo and his matches with Hitman, Rock, etc...

Promos are a part of wrestling and if you're only going to focus on "great matches" you're not going to become memorable.

Promos are indeed apart of wrestling as they can help sell a match, but they're not remembered in the same way great matches are. They're just not. Sure, someone can cut one memorable promo out of a 1000 but it's the matches that really live on. I couldn't tell you one memorable promo that was told in the build to the Mankind/Undertaker "Hell In A Cell" match but everyone remembers that match vividly. Can you have both great promos and matches? Sure, but it's not a requirement to be memorable in the wrestling business. Hell, I would say it's not a requirement to be memorable in the WWE. If Eddie Guerrero, Chris Beniot, and Bryan Danielson can be successful in WWE I know Omega could. Piece of cake.

I have no clue who this Lufisto woman is...but goddamn she's throwing grenades.

None of this should be a surprise to anyone following the AEW Women's Division. It's absolutely horrible. I do believe TK does care about women's wrestling in general and wants it to succeed, he just doesn't know how to book it. All he needs to do is look at what Stardom is doing and emulate it. It's not rocket science. Making Shida the champ is a start. Now build on that by giving her opponents who can work. Where the hell is Serena Deeb? KAIRI is not full time in Stardom. Bring her in and have her work a feud with Shida. Get Willow back on Dynamite and have her build to a match with Kris Statlander. Stop spotlighting Britt Baker, Ruby Soho, Saraya and other women who can't work. Every match on Dynamite that doesn't involve Shida or Willow is the drizzling shits. Another part of the problem is Britt Baker has too much power in the locker room. They need a real leader in that locker room.
