That IC title package on Smackdown just didn't hit as hard as the recent US title video packages for me. Maybe because when it was airing, I legit couldn't remember who the current IC champ was.
I love that HHH is building up the secondary titles, but the damage done under the last 20 years of Vince leadership is going to be a uphill battle to overcome.
Maybe they should try another legend winning it and doing a open challenge gimmick. Like they did with Cena and the US title a few years ago.
They could have the Rock or Jericho return and win it. Then run the storyline that the IC title was the first title they ever won in WWE and now they're back to make the belt relevant again.
They also need to bring the white straps back and stop messing with the design. The IC belt should ALWAYS have white straps.

I miss the hell out of Bray. Legit was the only thing wwe had going for it. Alexa too once she paired with him
I think one of the biggest issues is that it plays hot potato to the point nobody cares about it. The matches are very lackluster and the person holding it doesn't really do anything to keep it as if the title isn't that important anyway.
I think something that would be amazing to do with the IC title would be to literally have the champion defend it all over the world.
Do cross promotions with it. Have the champ work a program with New Japan. Both companies getting a huge match on one of their annual PPV/events. I don't personally watch New Japan, but with all the post in here, I'd be willing to bet people come come up with some really good matches.
And isn't there an Lunch wrestling promotion in Mexico. Hell even AEW or Ring of Honor. Go all over with the title. It's not like they're using it much on Raw or Smackdown anyway.
