Marlo cause he walked away free in the end after having his crew murder like 30 people.
That's what I said.
He ran a pretty clean operation and had the good lawyer.
Marlo cause he walked away free in the end after having his crew murder like 30 people.
He was the only negro that actually broke through to Marlo (for a time) and could run the whole operation without a bunch of killing and bang-bang shit.

the supplier aka the greeks.
Can't say Joe cause when it's all said and done Marlo made Joe close his eyes.
That's if Mike didn't blast his fuckin brains out all over Pennsylvania Ave at the first opportunity.
Then explain this:
Why would Chris hide some shit like that from Marlo?
Because he knew Marlo would be too willing to get his hands dirty and that might've caused a problem...
You didn't see Marlo with no money Bags, when he left that scum-bag of a lawyer he was dolo, with a suit on his back.i will say the smarter one was marlo, he's the one that got out with his money. bell ended up dead, avon got locked up. which one would u rather be.... in jail.. dead.. or with your money .
Avon,hands down.
And String ran the operation like shit...
He walked away scott-free but with someone who thinks like him and has his ego, when he confronted those young boys at the very end and they didn't bow like he thought they should. To me that one situation spoke values and on the streets he was NO MORE(dead).
Anyone who thinks Marlo "got away" didnt watch the show closely enough. It wasnt in Marlo to get hustled and bamboozled by Levy and the Baltimore rich white boys like String did. He couldn't stand it. He ran out of his cocktail meetings and kicked some hoppers ass unarmed just to feel like himself.
Now one patroller comes by, locks Marlo up and he's doing life for all those murders, which will forever hang over his head. And something tells me he'd rather be in Jessup with Avon and Chris and Wee Bay and them, than getting the runaround from Krycheck and Levy and them. Marlo was warned--another charge, we bring the cases off the shelf and charge you.
Believe me, according to the internal logic of the show, that outcome is / would have been inevitable.
That's if Mike didn't blast his fuckin brains out all over Pennsylvania Ave at the first opportunity.

We can assume Marlo walked away with money and everything he had before but again WE ARE ASSUMING.
On another note, Slim Charles (aka Big G) was the most official soldier in the game.
I don't think being shot by those hoods warrants as another charge. Marlo was the real winner imo. He was at the top of the game and left the game paid. All he had to worry about was Slim Charles possibly coming at him and Mike like you said. Marlo was wide open to get got after that. I think that would have been the outcome had the show continued.
Marlo hands down. he is ruthless, calculating, intelligent and doesn't care.
Anyone who thinks Marlo turns into String, does no more crime and sits on his paper and business deals just doesnt understand the Wire as well as they should, period.
Bruh, Marlo could not do ANY crime or Ronnie was gonna bring the murder cases down off the shelf as soon as the election was over. He knew that. He ran up on some hoppers and started a fight anyway, that tells you right there he was addicted to the game and could not leave it, so no he didnt leave the game on top. Even a simple BATTERY charge puts Marlo in jail for 20-plus. Anyone who thinks Marlo turns into String, does no more crime and sits on his paper and business deals just doesnt understand the Wire as well as they should, period.
I agree with you that Marlo eventually gets murked by Mike.

True but more than anything they showed the old style of hustling transforming into the new way of doing things. The counsel,Barksdale's,Marlo and the Micheals, all equal the four different generations of hustlers, murderers, theives and crooks. And most importantly they showed you how they all handled things differently, how the conducted themselves and what was most important to them.No such thing as the man, they were all different versions of a dealer.

Stringer probably would have came out to be the top dog in the end, if he didn't try to set-up Avon.
