To me the flashbacks in The Strain are usually poorly Timed and hardly do nothing for the character they're focusing on.
Dudes wanted an action packed episode.

When Ezekiel first appeared in the comics with that tiger, I always felt that Kirkman was playing on 70s images of Black Athletes and actors like Fred Williamson who kept large cats like tigers and leopards as a showpiece. Women were attracted to that shit in those days.

a majority of y'all saying the ep was good...so I'll give it a watch on fri. when I catch up on my weekly shows...ep 1 was really good...so maybe this season might represent a turning point for the show...I just don't wanna set myself up for disappointment like in the past

There are plenty of natural poison they could use. sneaking jimson weed or rotten ergot in the food, track Negan's men until they hallucinate, then attack.
Hilltop has a doctor with a working clinic. it's let that he would be able to grow botulism cultures.
Maybe a Even pot brownies would work. With no more DEA it's likely to be growing all over the forest.
Speaking of which, does anyone else find it odd that in the post apocalypse nobody thought to set up a grow field, moonshine still or a meth lab?

The reason I say this... Even if there are many natural poisons around.... Getting them is an issue. Then you would have to synthesize them. Honestly, who knows about the efficacy of these natural poisons. Like you said, they are unreliable. How do you know how he camp will eat the food. Does cooking the food change the efficacy of the poison.
It seems like a nice idea and has been trope that has been trotted out many times in works of art, but it seems like a lazy way to tell a story. Let's get then drunk then sneak in and kill them.
