What do you think about Mary L. Trump’s new book about President Donald Trump, and what are its potential effects?
The most striking thing I saw was her assertion that Trump likely grew up with a learning disability that prevents him from “processing” new information.
In other words, Trump likely suffers from a severe Attention Deficit Disorder.
We have directly observed Trump's ADD for four years. That's why he seems confused by even one sentence of new information. As we have seen for four years, Trump listens, he hears, but new information hits a dead-end just after his eardrums - except for perhaps one keyword.
AHA!!!!
A “learning disability that prevents him from “processing” new information.”
That explains so much!
The:
- bizarre non-sequitors,
- the half sentences,
- pinball brain speeches,
- his Fourth grade vocabulary,
- ignoring PDBs,
- watching tv for ten hours per day,
- walking out of meetings (Trump got bored during his Bill of Rights tutorial and suddenly got up and left during the 3rd Amendment part; at a meeting at the Pentagon held for the purpose of impressing upon Trump the responsibility of US troop commitments around the world (Trump held the opinion that American military forces were stationed around the world as “free security-guards”; one of his advisors told him “We do it tobprevent World War Three) Trump suddenly jumped up, called the general officers “a bunch of babies”, complimented the carpeting and furnishings, and walked out;
- after the Parkland mass shooting, Trump traveled to Florida and met with teachers; in an unusual casual encounter with a teacher, Trump kept asking her, “What do you think of my idea to give teachers guns?” The woman diplomatically gave gentle answers that did not encourage the idea. Trump could not process - he kept asking the same question. The teacher reported, “It was like talking to a toddler. He kept asking the same question over and over.”
- ignoring intelligence,
- constantly repeating the new word he learned that day (speaking to US Coastguardsmen after a hurricane, Trump kept mentioning the new F-18),
- bleach kills covid 19 therefore inject bleach,
- Trump on covid 19 pandemic: “China travel ban => stock market => ventilators => testing => who cares?”
- And that constant stream of stupid shit that spews from the mouth of the President of the US (16 July speech: “We're gonna get things done. Things nobody has ever thought about. Things that are going to make s big difference. Things... Starting this Tuesday”.)
The potential effects?
This is why Trump's re-election campaign is doomed: Trump is unable to receive competent advice from the experts he throws money at.
If you tried to explain Trump's greatest re-election problem to him, you might say:
- “You want people to go back to work and school so the economy recovers” (Trump hears “economic recovery” and nods)
- “But people are afraid they will get China virus if they do that” (Trump hears “China virus” and thinks “China's fault. Not mine.”)
- “So they won't go back to work or school until they feel safe from the China virus” (Trump hears “China virus” and thinks “China's fault. Not mine.”)
- “So we have to get China virus under control first” (Trump hears “China virus” and thinks “China's fault. Not mine.”)
- Trump heard economic recovery and more China virus crap. Trump says “People need to go back to work and school for the economy”
You say “Black Lives Matter”; Trump hears “black people blah blah blah”.
You say “The Jacksonville convention is going to be a humiliating disaster”; Trump hears “Jacksonville convention - Florida loves me.”
