My case is kinda bit different. Came from overseas and in a lockdown. I would call my barber but I just wanna see how this goes. I won't mind staying put till end of march.

What is the world coming to when bruthas let anybody but another Black man cut your hair. Its 2 times in my life a Black man hasn't cut my hair 1. Basic training and when I was in Desert Storm and that's because I had no choice in either case.
I wonder if they’re doing designs or labor intensive cuts? If they’re doing cuts at $5-6 a pop, they gotta be be doing basic cuts and turning the chairs over fast. That is a good idea though. Parents with 2 or 3 boys can’t spend these outrageous prices during these economic times. Money is tight for millions.

20 + a tip has been what I paid for years, probably bc I dont have a full beard. If you are getting your head (Temp fade or skint fade) and beard done then I understand the $30 + rate.

I called for an appointment and that shit was $50!!!! I almost laughed in dude's face. I cut my hair every week. You think I'm going to pay $200/month plus tip for another mofo to cut my hair?!! Hell no!!!

One of the better barbers, I used to go to, used to cut for $15 out his crib. My oldest son, put me into him about 2-3 yrs ago. I've watched dude raise his prices and moved to $20 then to $25. Then he started having adult and kid prices. Then he deaded that the last time I went to him over a year ago. He now charges $50 for a cut and with beard is I think $75.
When I left that day with my son, I gave him $80 for both of us. There was a guy sitting there with his 3 sons waiting for cuts. Dude was sitting there about to pay $180-200.
I'm in a biz where I deal with many shops so I see many varying prices. These new white boy gentlemen's shops are what kinda also drove up prices. Dudes will easily pay $135 for cut, shave and scalp and shoulder massage. All day.
This started a lil while B4 Covid. 2020 didn't add to what's long been going on.
I feel for some parents with a kid/kids cause going every 2-4 weeks is definitely "tew much".
My barber I have now, works off appts on Booksy and works out his garage. Looks just like a shop, but in his parents backyard and is one of the best I've seen outside of my NYC barbers.

i go every 2 weeks. Self maintenance is important. I’ll spend whatever to maintain myself properly

just purchased some gamma+ ergo's........my oster fast feeds I am not a fan really of them as they dont cut close the way I like and they have a taper blade.....I find myself digging in my head to get guidelines out when I fade
