The un-renewal comes during strikes by Hollywood writers and actors, and sources cite the work stoppages as the reason for The Peripheral not moving ahead with season two. Prime Video had picked up a second season in February, about two months after the first (and now only) season finished its run.
That's bullshit... they just want to blame workers, when what it really is is that they want to cut costs, especially after blowing so much on Lord of the Rings ($400+M) and Citadel (250M)
I have been a prime member since they first started doing it. The biggest problem, imo, has always been that prime video is seen as an "add-on" to prime shipping and not a separate service. Their marketing has always been terrible. You really only find out about shows if you see it on the Amazon homepage.
