Read this article quite a while back and read it again when I saw it posted here.

This article is bullshit because it's supposes there is actually a so called Black community. Nothing can be farther from the truth, there never has been a Black community and there won't be one until we Black people recognize that fact. We came here in chains, we were bought and sold by America's rich and powerful. After slavery this country used the judicial system to keep us enslaved. It's 2008 and there's 1 million Black people behind bars, most of them are there for non-volient drug charges. How can people who have never known anything but degradation claim a community? It's stupid. The question is and always have been is " Can a Black man be educated by whites, talk like them, accept their values and still be Black"? Hell Nah.

This article is simplistic at best. The author wants to say that black people are OK as long as they don't protest. I know plenty of black middle class that speak there minds and are fine. What he refers to is the upper crust of America. Well if you look at it no one speaking white power is making it in America either. White black or Asians only truely make it by being business men first. You also have to realize is that a lot more black Americans are not in the same situation as they were 20 years ago. When I grew up there was no one living in the white side of town. Although the black side of town is still all black the white side of town is mixed. What I noticed is that when I visit my home town the people in the black side of town are claiming racism along with the few patches of whites in the all white portions left claiming reverse racism. The mixed portion of town is all about succeding and progressing. The make the least amount of noise and are the most successful. They also work around successful blacks. If you compare true statistics you will see that blacks make a lot more money now then they did before. You could argue that in the 50's and 60's whites were protecting there interest. Now they see black people in Jordans and cars riding on dubs, gold chains and hip hop vids; the visuals are oustounding. How can a race of people that claim poverty live a lifestyle better then the people that make more money then they do and bitch when we say we are broke.
Truth of the matter is we are doing better, but as black males we still make less on the dollar then white men. Black women have actually gotton a lot closer to white women in wages then black men have to white men. The article itself is to short sided to really answer all of the questions of why whites believe racism is gone.
The major point the writer is trying to make is that as long as blacks don't stir up trouble they can make it. Well that is stupid. What he really is saying is that racism will not truely go away until blacks can feel free to complain and still make it. Well if we made it we wouldn't have anything to complain about. Which when you think about it people hang in income circles. If the people making it are all doing well why would they complain? So what has this article proved. Nothing. Those things can be obtained in America via credit i.e. using money that you DON'T have right now.
