On one hand I don't mind waiting 30 mins or an hour or whatever for kicks, but then after I'm in line I have experiences where I should have just ordered online.

One dude had some concords on in the fuckin rain. And another dude who had South Beaches on in the rain. And a bunch of people had foams. I guess they were supposed to be impressing people. When your soles are yellow you're going to wish you hadn't done that dumb shit.

Trust me Philly is up on kicks just as any other City. Philly just has about 100 different sneakers store compared to the usual 10-20 for other cities. I think Philly has too many sneaker stores. Years ago, Cheltenham Mall had like 30 stores and I swear 15 of them sold sneakers in some way shape or form.

You can probably still get most retros at City Blue still if you don't mind the middle eastern owner mark up

From what I can remember in Philly:

Samsun, City Blue, Kicks USA, City Trendz, Modell's, Olympia Sports, The NET about 3 other different stores on South St.

Downtown from about 8th and Market and to about Rittenhouse square, there are at least 20 different sneaker spots. A lot of them are in the Gallery, check Chestnut St., then Walnut Street all the way to Rittenhouse square and Sansom St.

In Germantown, on and around Germanton Ave and Chelten Ave, there are at least 6 Mom and Pop stores in a 5 block radius that sell kicks.

If you take Germantown Ave all the way down to Erie Ave by Broad St., there again you will find about 6 different sneaker stores all on Germantown Ave within a mile radius.

There are stores On Broad St and Olney Ave., near where I grew up that have stores which have a lot of different Jordan's and other sneakers. Not to mention West Philly and Cheltenham Mall have a few stores as well.

Most of these Mom and Pops stores though are middle eastern owned and a few are shady as shit with the amount they charge. But they pretty much sell Jordan's and Foamposites when they receive them and barely pay attention to the actual release dates.

i use to buy mine from Giant on lancaster ave but even that has been replaced by a sneaker villa and they tore down the giant man off that building that you saw in Eddie Murphy's Trading Places

Yeah, Stackhouse, Rasheed Wallace, Jeff McInnis and the rest of the starters on the team rocked them during the '95 ACC Tournament.
Them and the Fab Five were the only teams I remember at the time sporting the same kicks like that.

The "giant" been gone. Since at least the early 90's. The last kicks I bought from them were the OG 16's. I've always called them the Darth Vader's.... Seemed like something he'd rock....
