In fact I'd say they're the best retro JB's put out in the past couple of years.
Uptown's are wack to me because of the cheap leather. The premium ones for $140 and up are the only decent ones, and the colors on most of those are wack.

I have the ASG's, and will get more as they go on sale.
And the XXIII's are classics, especially the stealths and titanium ones

XXIII's aren't anything other than zoom air, nothing special technology wise

And the XIII's are solid, besides the shorter tongue. They have much better quality than the IX's, III's and XI's have been.
Comfort wise and what not the 23's got rave reviews for the Zoom and the soles. Whats funny is I have those 23's right there and have not worn them once.

Both from the same Footlocker. And honestly I can see the difference in quality between his and mine. Hes been rocking his since he got them still look new. Obviously its a child shoe but it should still be made with the same materials. His toe material is made with the same material from the black & white 13s with the "Playoffs" upper. But my shit is straight "upper' material, that cracky leather bullshit. I haven't even worn my shits yet. Waiting for the right event.
AF1s has always been a good "one week" shoe, well at least in recent years. Something that looks clean for the occasion that your wearing them for. Not so much for the longevity. So the leather doesn't bother me that much in this situation.
Comfort wise they aren't that great, because they rub your pinky toe.
And the IX's aren't even close. Have you seen the shiny cheap paint on the mid sole
