After watching last nights game the Giants look like they'll be back in contention by maybe next year. They should've won last night,
ticky-tack fouls and a new QB that has no sense of touch yet. Hopefully his touch will develop before next season.

BTW those helmets were looking good last night.

NFL Rumors: Joe Judge, ex-Patriots assistants have 'openly denigrated' Tom Brady's abilities

Report: Ex-Pats assistants have 'openly denigrated' Tom Brady's abilities originally appeared on NBC Sports Boston

Joe Judge appears to be the latest member of the Bill Belichick coaching tree to go through growing pains as a new head coach.
Judge, now the head coach of the New York Giants, served on the Patriots coaching staff from 2012-19. Heading into Week 11 of his inaugural season in East Rutherford, Judge already has found himself in some controversy.

Judge fired offensive coordinator Marc Colombo following what reportedly was a heated verbal argument on Wednesday. The event shed more light on what's been going on at with the Giants this season, and there definitely seems to be some dysfunction as the "Patriot Way" hasn't translated well to MetLife Stadium.

Curran's Patriots-Texans Preview: Can Pats get back to .500?

Michael Silver of Sports Illustrated posted an interesting Twitter thread Friday detailing the Judge/Colombo controversy. Silver notes Judge and some of the ex-Patriots assistants who came with him from New England have "exuded an alarming aura of haughtiness."
As an example, Silver writes that Judge and his fellow ex-Pats assistants have "openly denigrated the abilities of former Patriots quarterback Tom Brady" and suggested the 43-year-old is a product of New England's system.
Check out the tweets below:

Bizarre.

If Judge and the other Patriots assistants are knocking Brady's abilities, they haven't paid much attention since the six-time Super Bowl champion took his talents to Tampa Bay. Brady has the Buccaneers at 7-3 this season while throwing for 2,739 yards and 23 touchdowns. He also defeated Judge's Giants in Week 8.

The Giants, meanwhile, are 3-7. Given how terrible the NFC East is, that record currently is good enough for second place in the division.

New York has a bye this week, then will host the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 12.

Most would recognize Tom Brady as the greatest quarterback of all-time. There’s a mountain of evidence to support that claim (six Lombardi Trophies and four Super Bowl MVPs, for starters), though Giants coach Joe Judge, who brushed shoulders with the legendary signal-caller during his time as a Patriots assistant, doesn’t sound particularly convinced of Brady’s greatness.
According to Michael Silver of NFL Network, Judge and a number of other ex-New England staffers are of the belief Brady, though admittedly “intelligent,” was a product of the Patriots’ “system,” a scheme that offset many of his shortcomings including “throwing deep, throwing outside the numbers and moving in the pocket.” In fact, Judge, who Silver notes has “exuded an alarming aura of haughtiness” in his new venture with the Giants, has gone as far as “openly denigrating” Brady’s abilities.

That’s not a hill I’m personally willing to die on, though I’ll allow Judge and others to have their own suspicions about Brady, who has been excellent in his debut season as a Tampa Bay Buc. The nugget from Silver was part of a larger thread detailing the early months of Judge’s New York tenure, which have been turbulent to say the least. While Judge’s disagreement with fired offensive line coach Marc Colombo did not turn physical as some have suggested, many in the Giants organization were puzzled by Judge’s handling of the situation.

As alluded to by Silver, the tension began on the practice field when Judge made a point of correcting Nick Gates’ technique. When Colombo voiced his disagreement, Judge lashed out, leading to a “frosty” relationship from that point on. After struggling early, the Giants’ O line was beginning to make progress when, seemingly out of nowhere, Judge elected to add his former Patriots colleague Dave DeGuglielmo to the team’s coaching staff as an “offensive line consultant.” Colombo, who was popular among players, predictably wasn’t thrilled by this development. Neither were his O lineman, who Silver claims were “confused” by Judge’s odd choice to bring in a new coach amid a two-game winning streak.

With unrest brewing, Judge went out of his way to “rip” rookie tackle Andrew Thomas during a team film session. That’s when things got heated with an irate Colombo adamantly coming to Thomas’ defense, prompting the blowup (including the use of some very NSFW language) that led to Colombo’s dismissal. None of this paints the picture of a functional franchise with Silver calling Judge’s explosive falling out with Colombo an “open sore” within the Giants’ locker room, leading to frustration among players, many of whom are worried they’ll have to learn new techniques on the fly.

Like many other Belichick protégés who have made the leap from coordinator to head coach against their better judgment, Judge—whose abrasive personality has been described as “off-putting”—has fostered a hostile environment in New York, needling players and coaches with blunt criticism and around-the-clock negativity. Belichick’s famous “Do Your Job” mantra has worked for decades in Foxboro, but when others (Matt Patricia and Bill O’Brien among them) have tried that ruthless approach elsewhere, it’s mostly blown up in their faces.

Dallas Cowboys strength and conditioning coach Markus Paul, 54, dies

i

FRISCO, Texas -- Dallas Cowboys strength and conditioning coordinator Markus Paul, who was rushed to the hospital Tuesday morning after experiencing a medical emergency, has died, the team announced Wednesday. He was 54.

Surrounded by family, Paul died Wednesday evening at Plano Presbyterian Hospital.
The cause of death was not announced.

"The loss of a family member is a tragedy, and Markus Paul was a loved and valued member of our family," Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones said in a statement. "He was a pleasant and calming influence in our strength room and throughout The Star.

"His passion for his work and his enthusiasm for life earned him great respect and admiration from all our players and the entire organization. We offer our love and support to his family in this very difficult time. Our hearts are broken for his family and all of the individuals whose lives he touched and made better."

The Cowboys will recognize and remember Paul before their Thanksgiving Day matchup against the Washington Football Team at AT&T Stadium.
Paul was treated by Cowboys medical personnel and transported to a local hospital by ambulance shortly before 7:30 a.m. CT Tuesday. Coach Mike McCarthy canceled practice Tuesday, and Wednesday's session ran roughly 75 minutes, which was considered to be close to normal, given the circumstances.

Paul joined the Cowboys in 2018 as an assistant to Mike Woicik and was named the strength and conditioning coordinator upon McCarthy's arrival as coach.

"We extend our love, strength and support to Markus' family during this most challenging of times and ask that their privacy be respected moving forward," McCarthy said in a statement Wednesday. "Markus Paul was a leader in this building. He earned the players' respect and attention because he cared so much and was a naturally gifted communicator -- both on the personal and professional levels. He handled every situation, sometimes with a smile and a pat on the back and sometimes with tough love.

"He had innate toughness in a job that requires that quality, and he was admired throughout the NFL by his peers and the players he coached. It was a privilege to work with him as a coach and laugh with him as a friend. Markus did everything the right way."

Paul played five years in the NFL as a defensive back with the Chicago Bears and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, from 1989 to 1993, after four seasons at Syracuse, where he was a two-time All-American.

Washington head coach Ron Rivera and Paul were teammates with the Bears from 1989-92, before the end of Rivera's playing career.
"The passing of Markus Paul is a true loss to the NFL community and anyone who had the privilege of knowing him," Rivera said. "Markus was a tremendous teammate during my time with the Chicago Bears and a good friend to me over the years. He was just a great man and will be missed by many.''

Paul entered the coaching ranks in 1998 with the New Orleans Saints and then spent five seasons with the New England Patriots' strength staff under Woicik from 2000 to 2004. In 2005 and '06, Paul was the director of physical development and head strength and conditioning coach for the New York Jets.

He spent 11 seasons with the New York Giants as an assistant strength coach before joining the Cowboys.

The Jets expressed condolences on their Twitter account Wednesday, describing Paul as "a kind man who made a lasting impact on those fortunate to have crossed his path."

The Giants also tweeted about Paul, calling him "a beloved member of our organization for several years" and saying, "He will be greatly missed."
The Saints said in their statement, "While Markus' time in New Orleans was relatively brief nearly two decades ago, he left a lasting legacy as a family first, hardworking individual that cared deeply for the players and the rich history of the NFL."

In 2012, the Cowboys experienced the loss of a player one day before playing the Cincinnati Bengals, when practice-squad linebacker Jerry Brown was killed in a car accident in which teammate Josh Brent was the driver. The Cowboys had Brown's jersey displayed on their bench and won the game.

I don’t want the Giants to succeed this season. Giant Fans shitted on former GM Jerry Reese, making him out to be the worse GM ever, and even saying that Gettleman was better GM. I felt that ownership didn’t give Reese the opportunity to get rid of Eli sooner and I even felt that the Maras interfere in many of Reese’s decisions, including inheriting HC Coughlin and hiring Ben McAdoo.
